They sat in the lounge after dinner, discussing pack politics.

"I don't agree Alpha Jeon" the Omega said, surprising everyone. "A partnership must be beneficial to all parties. Even though protection is important, it is only beneficial if one of the other parties is in need. In any other circumstance it is not an attribute to the contract." Alpha Jungkook looked at the ethereal Omega, marveling at his bravery to go against the Trueblood.

"So, little wolf, what would you suggest as even trade?" His voice rumbled through the room.

Tae nearly passed out with the sensation of being under a microscope.

Well, he had to open his big mouth, no turning back.

"Look at what the other pack needs Alpha and negotiate with that. Your pack needs grain, the Crystal pack has no access to fresh meat during winter. Negotiate a hunting concession in return for a certain quantity of grain. Either per animal or as a once of deal. That way your pack gets the grain they need which will not cost an arm and a leg to buy out and the smaller pack gets the meat they need to survive."

Jungkook looked at the Omega. Well, what do you know, that is a definitely a plan.

"So, would you do per animal or as a standard arrangement on quantum?"

" Standard will make planning for the future much easier, Alpha. You will know exactly what you gain and what you lose."

"Interesting concept, Omega. So, for a pack of 200 wolves, what would you suggest hunting wise as a fair trade vs the quantity of grain for a pack of 10 000?"

" The average wolf needs to consume an eighth of its own weight per day in winter. But this can be supplemented with bread, porridge and veggies. So for a pack of 200 wolves, 30 elk or 40 deer will be enough. The marrow in the bones can be used for soup, so none of the fatty stuff gets lost. And most packs have streams, so they can fish as well."

Luna Jeon smiled, "Taehyung, it seems to me you have done this before. Smaller packs look to us for protection as desperate packs attack each other when hunger strikes. If we can remove the hunger, the fights will be less, and my son won't have to go out and slaughter wolves who only wanted to survive."

Tae couldn't answer, he was scared to let them know he was supposed to be Luna of the pack that caused the Trueblood heartache, so he just kept quiet.

Jungkook looked at the Omega, he picked up again on the anxiety and fear. What caused this?

" If you agree, Taehyung, I would like you to sit in with the negotiations with the other packs."

"Alpha, you have wonderful advisors who would serve your pack better than me. I am leaving soon to go my own way."

"What? Tae, why would you leave now? You can stay with us and leave later, with me." Yoongi was immediately upset.

"We will talk later hyung. This is not the time or place" Tae immediately retorted.

Jungkook picked up again on the spike of fear. Who was this Omega, what is causing fear and panic?

Later, they all retired to their rooms or houses for the night. Jungkook was still sitting outside under a big tree after going for a run, when he saw the Omega walking to his car with a bag. He was running away.

Well, Jungkook was not going to let that happen. This Omega has awoken something in him he never knew existed. A curiosity, a need to know more about the Omega, to find the buttons to push him to open up. To keep him safe and close.

Taehyung put his bag in his car, breathing in deep, he had to go, it was dangerous for him here. He left Yoongi a note explaining everything.

As he opened the door of the car, a large hand closed over his, causing a frightened squeak to escape.
