[A few days later]

"What do we do?" I sighed as I sat next to him

"I don't know, but we can't have another incident like this." Spencer muttered

"Hey, hey," I embraced him as I looked at his horrified face, "she will be okay. Maybe we just need to give her the space she needs." I comforted him as my wolf, Jewel, whined in my head

"How? If we leave her, then another incident might happen, and she might have been gone if we didn't get there in time!" He stood up and started panicking

"Shhh, calm down, Spencer." I quickly embrace him again

"I can't.. she almost died. Dammit, I feel so stupid, not even realising that she'd be a danger to herself!"

"Hey, look at me, I know you're angry at yourself, but please know that I'll always be by your side. I love you." I rested my chin on his chest

He hugged me back as he hid his face in the crook of my neck, "What would I do without you." He murmured as he breathed in my scent, "I love you more." He came out of my neck and kissed my lips

I chuckled at his affection but quickly stopped. He looked at me confused and a bit worried.

"Did I do something wrong?"

"No, it's just.." I sighed. "I'm also worried about her health. Her health could be deteriorating, and we don't even know about it."

"What are you complying, Jul?"

"I'm saying she needs someone since the both of us are mostly busy with our duties as Betas. So I want Coraline here with us for at least a week and a half."

"I don't know about this.. Benjamin might not agree with this." He scratches the back of his neck

"Come on, Cory is the Alpha's sister, and the news of Zeph and Atlas's demise would also get her to stay here for only a little while." I gave him one of my smiles that I knew would affect him the most

He quickly turned to a shade of red, "Okay! Fine! I'll try." He scratched the back of his neck before heading out of the room

"How are you doing, man?" I leaned on the wall

"Not good, it's been a very stressful day for me. Teressa has been trying to speak to me and trying to get into my office after I rejected her." He sighed, clearly stressed

"Shouldn't you at least give her an explanation on why you rejected her? After all, you did reject her on the spot."

"I'm afraid she wasn't the right one. Even Mateo sided with me."

I look at him, dumbfounded. "Wait, what? Normally, I've heard of wolves refusing to reject their other half, and Mateo, your wolf, is siding with you? Now that's unusual. I've never heard of anything like that, man." I covered my mouth with my hand

"Me neither." He muttered before sighing again, "Got anything from Alpha Ace?"

"Yeah, his letter says that he's also getting unusually higher numbers of rogue attacks along with Alpha Dimitri and a couple more packs." I answered quickly

"Have they found anything about the rogues?"

I slightly frowned, "Unfortunately, no."

"Hey." He looks at me

"Yeah?"

"I heard your friend was sent to the hospital? Is he or she okay?"

"Yes, Jul and I got her at the hospital in time."

"What about you, bud? Are you doing okay?"

"Yeah, I'm just worried about her." I sighed

The doctor said that any minute or later would have been her end if we hadn't come in to check on her. Jul and I found her pale and hanging from the roof of her room. It was absolutely horrifying.

"Speaking about her, is it okay if Coraline stays here for a couple of days? Jul suggested that she might need someone for her to talk to when we aren't there."

"Yeah, sure, man. I'll call Cory later and inform her about her."

"Thanks, man." I patted his shoulder before leaving his office

I walked back to me and Jul's room and me, and I walked in. I realised she wasn't in here. Perhaps she left to tend to something.

'No, Jewel just told me that they were at the hospital.' Sol, my wolf, quickly informed me

So I left the pack house and started heading to the hospital. I walked past the training field, where the recently shifted wolves were training and walked past a couple of houses before arriving at the hospital.

"Beta Spencer," she bowed her head in respect, "Who are you looking for?" The nurse asked

"I'm looking for Jul. Have you seen her?"

"Ah yes, Beta Julia, she is in room 77, floor 2 with.." she looks at her clipboard, "a patient named Ms. Thea."

"Thanks." I thanked the polite nurse

I walked past a couple of wolves who bowed their heads before continuing their day and entered the elevator

I walked past a few rooms before I finally found room 77. I knocked on the door.

"Come in." Jul whispered before I carefully got in, "Shhh, don't be too loud. She's asleep." She whispered loud enough for me to hear

"How is she doing?" I whispered back

"She's stable and doing just fine. The doctor said she should be able to go home after she wakes up."

I sighed in relief, 'Thank goddess, L- they're okay.'

'What do you mean by 'L', Sol?' I raised an eyebrow

'Nothing! Both me and Jewel are relieved they are both doing okay.'
