The following weekend, Keerthi and Krish decided to escape the city for a much-needed getaway to a picturesque hill station. The vibrant green hills and the crisp mountain air promised a refreshing break from their everyday lives and a chance to explore their relationship without the pressures of family or work.

They arrived at the quaint cottage they had booked, nestled among the trees, its wooden exterior radiating warmth and charm. As they unpacked, Krish couldn't help but steal glances at Keerthi, who was joyfully humming as she organized their belongings.

"Are you excited for the hike tomorrow?" he asked, leaning against the doorframe, a playful grin on his face.

"Absolutely! I've heard the views from the top are breathtaking. It'll be worth the effort!" she replied, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.

After settling in, they ventured out to explore the nearby trails. The air was crisp, and the scent of pine filled their lungs as they walked hand in hand, the vibrant colors of nature surrounding them. Keerthi felt a sense of peace wash over her as she immersed herself in the moment, appreciating the beauty of the world around her and the warmth of Krish by her side.

As they reached a clearing overlooking a stunning valley, they paused to take in the view. The sunset cast a golden glow across the landscape, and Keerthi felt a surge of gratitude for the life she was building with Krish.

"This is incredible," she breathed, turning to Krish, who was gazing out at the horizon. "I'm so glad we came here."

"Me too," he replied, his voice low and thoughtful. "I wanted to bring you here for a reason."

Keerthi's heart raced at the sudden shift in his tone. "What do you mean?"

He turned to her, his expression serious yet tender. "Keerthi, these past few months have been some of the happiest of my life. You've opened my heart in ways I never thought possible, and I want to build a future with you. I know we've talked about taking our time, but I believe in what we have."

Her breath caught in her throat as he took a step closer, his hand gently cupping her cheek. "I want to be exclusive with you. To make a commitment that goes beyond just dating. Will you be mine, officially?"

Keerthi's heart soared at his words. "Yes, of course! I want that too!" she exclaimed, unable to contain her excitement. They shared a joyous embrace, the warmth of their connection palpable in the cool evening air.

But Krish wasn't done yet. As he pulled away, he reached into his backpack and revealed a small, velvet box. Keerthi's eyes widened in surprise. "Krish, what's that?"

With a nervous smile, he opened the box to reveal a delicate silver ring with a small, sparkling stone. "It's not an engagement ring yet, but I want you to have this as a promise of my love and commitment to you. I'm ready to take that step when you are. This is a symbol of my intentions."

Tears welled in her eyes as she processed his words. "Oh, Krish, it's beautiful!" She took the ring and slipped it onto her finger, her heart racing with joy. "This means so much to me."

"I know things with our families can be complicated, but I want you to know I'm in this for the long haul," he said, his gaze earnest. "We'll face those challenges together."

Overwhelmed with emotion, Keerthi threw her arms around him. "I love you, Krish! I really do!"

As they stood there, wrapped in each other's embrace, the sunset painted a breathtaking backdrop, sealing their promise with the warmth of the fading light. Keerthi felt a sense of hope and excitement for the future, knowing that they would face whatever came their way together.
