Saturday evening Desiree hands me the phone scowling, "It's Aden."

As I reach for it, she pulls it away adding, "I don't think I know him."

Now standing, and fighting for the phone I say, "Des, c'mon, give me the phone!"

Lifting the phone higher and further away, she demanded, "Tell him he has to meet me Monday, or don't call here again?"

"Des, Okay! Gimme the phone!"

Placing the phone to her ear she says, "Here she is," and then hands it to me.

Flustered I sigh, "Hey Aden."

"Did I call at a bad time?"

"No! I was just in the basement."

"Oh."

There's a moment of silence. Letting out a deep breath he says, "So tell me about Kelly."

"What do you wanna know?"

"Anything."

"I like the nighttime and I prefer Winter to Summer. Now you."

"My parents have six children. I'm number five and I've never had a girlfriend."

There's more silence, and then I say, "It's four of us. Three girls and a brother who is the youngest. I'm the second oldest."

"And boyfriends?"

"When I was a kid. So, I haven't had any real boyfriends."

"Hmm? What's a real boyfriend?"

Heart racing, I answer, "I don't know."

"May I be your real boyfriend?"

"Mhmm."

"Alright girlfriend, I have to go. I'll call you tomorrow, okay?"

"Okay."

"Sweet dreams, Kelly."

Through a quivering voice, I stammer, "Y-You too."

Monday morning, he and Dallas picked me up for school. Surprisingly, he has a newer, larger model of the same car. It's a lovely grayish blue. As he stands opening the passenger's side door I say, "Nice ride."

Dallas was seated in the back staring. I greeted, "Hey Dallas."

In a dry tone, he replies, "Hey."

Now inside Aden tells me, "Thanks."

Suddenly there's a hard knock on his window. Startled, Aden breaks hard, stopping. It's Desiree motioning for him to roll it down. Through a furrowed brow, Aden glances back at Dallas who looks like he's beholding an angel. Stern, Desiree greets, "Hello Aden. I'm Kelly's oldest sister Desiree."

"Nice to meet you, Desiree."

Now looking in the back she asks, "Who are you?"

"I'm Dallas and very pleased to meet you."

Rolling her eyes toward me she says, "Have a good day and I'll see you after school."

Smirking I reply, "Yes Des. Love you."

"Love you too." She leaves.

As we pull off Aden asks, "How old is your sister? She looks our age."

I laugh, "She's only 17, but she thinks she's my mother."

"Seventeen!" Smacking his lips he speeds off so we won't be late for school.

We've been a couple for two months now. I learned that Dallas has been Aden's best friend since grade school. He and I are even kind of close now. The only downside is, he was our shadow. Dallas doesn't care he's a third leg, but tonight Aden does. I'm usually dropped off after school, first, but today Aden goes to Dallas' home first. Confused Dallas asks, "What's up?"

Without saying a word, Aden stares at him through the rearview mirror. Suddenly, Dallas sighs, "Oh okay. See y'all tomorrow."

Watching until he enters his home, Aden pulls off asking, "Can you hang a little?"

I nod and he continues, "Sweet. Let's eat then I want to show you where I live."

Aden lives in one of the historical parts of our city. His home is an older mansion. Although in the hood, it's still a very well-maintained neighborhood. He parks and then leads me to this massive porch. Upon entering his mom's eyes widen greeting, "Hey Aden. Who is this?"

I stand in the doorway admiring his pristine home. It looks like something out of a magazine. His parents are a little older than mine, but they're attractive people. His dad looks to be my granddad's age. He seems extra kind and soft-spoken, but his mom looks younger and is outspoken. As Aden leads me to the couch his mom watches me. I can tell she's not thrilled about seeing me with him. Soon I hear running down the stairs. It's a preteen girl. Squinting she stares my way with a devilish grin.

Now seated Aden says, "Everyone this is my girlfriend, Kelly. Kelly these are my parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cullen. And that's my baby sister Bernadette.

Smiling I say, "Nice to meet you all."

With a nod and grin his dad's tranquil voice says, "Very nice meeting you Kelly."

Hand now on Aden's shoulder he pats it then returns to the den to finish watching television. His mom is still dazed as his sister greets, "Hi Kelly. So, you're Aden's girlfriend?"

Suddenly she erupts with laughter. Huffing Aden scoffs, "Mom."

Snapping out her trance she yells, "Binky stop being so silly and go wash up for dinner!"

"Yes ma'am! Nice to meet you Kel-lllly." Bernadette, who's nickname is Binky, drags out my name while batting her eyes.

Biting his bottom lip, Aden glares her way as she runs into the kitchen. His mom's eyes are fixed on me. Though hesitant she says, "Yes, nice to meet you, Kelly. Well, this is a first. Aden's never introduced us to anyone. Will you be having dinner with us?"

"Nope, we already ate." Aden interrupts as he motions for me to head upstairs.

Face twisted his mom scowls our way as he says, "We have homework, Mom. We'll be down shortly."

Now upstairs he removes his keys and unlocks a door. Upon opening it there's another flight of stairs. His room is a bungalow, connected to the attic. He has a bed, a couch, a TV, and a stereo. I say, "Wow. Nice room."

Gazing my way, he pulls me close and starts tongue kissing. Kissing back a moment I pull away whispering, "Did you lock the door?"

Through kisses, he pants out, "They know not to come up here."

Leaning back again I whisper, "Aden, wait. Please lock the door."

Sighing he runs down his stairs, locks his door, hurries back, and starts kissing me again. Feeling his erection, I tense up. Sensing my resistance he pauses, gazing into my eyes. Eyes bucked I release a long exhale. Dropping his head he grabs my hand and then leads me to his couch. Now seated he asks, "Do you want to watch TV?"

Trembling, I nod yes. He puts on the sitcom Good Times. Now I'm laughing. Then his deriding of certain characters makes me laugh even harder. Once I'm relaxed, he whispers into my ear, "Are you a virgin?"

Palms sweating, I look into his yearning eyes and nod yes. Caressing my cheek he whispers, "It's okay. I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable."

Voice cracking, I stammer out, "I-It's okay."

Still lost in my eyes he kisses me again, whispering, "And don't feel pressured. I'd never pressure you. I like you just as you are, okay?"

Heaving, I stutter, "O-Okay."

The show ends and he says, "Let me get you home."
