Emiloisa: after the wedding

happy birthday!

It was a great morning in the Buenaventura's household. Eloisa got up early as she always does to tend to her son, Thirdy. Before getting out of bed, she checked on her husband and saw that he was still in his deep slumber so she didn't bother waking him up since it was still too early. She planted a soft kiss on his forehead before getting up then went straight to the bathroom to do her morning rituals.

"Sitadel, paki-check na si Thirdy sa taas kung prepare na ba siya ng yaya niya at kailangan mag-breakfast na siya," Eloisa instructed to Sitadel

Minutes later, she heard little steps approaching her, "Mommy!!" Thirdy exclaimed as he clung his arms around her mom's neck to hug her.

"Ang bango! Let's eat na?" she asked then withdrew from their hug.

While watching her son eat his first meal of the day, she took the time to prepare for his baon to school. She checked inside his bag to see if all of the things he would be needing at school were inside, especially his homework—which is always forgotten.

"Anak, be a good boy at school, okay?" Eloisa reminded Thirdy while fixing his uniform

"Yes, mommy! Good boy kaya ako lagi, sabi nga ni teacher I'm the most behaved student eh!"

Eloisa laughed at her son's remarks, a little while after, they heard a horn outside their house.

"Oh ayan na ang sundo mo, behave and enjoy, anak ha? I love you" she said then hugged her son

"Promise, mommy! I love you! Tell daddy I love him too." he replied then kissed her mom's cheeks before hopping inside his school bus.

Eloisa waved her hand as she watched the vehicle drive away until it was out of her sight. She went back inside the house to prepare her coffee.

While enjoying her morning brew, her eyes caught the clock, it was already 8:00 am and Emil still hadn't come down, which is very unusual since Emil is a morning person and he has work today.

Suddenly, she heard a loud bang from upstairs so she hurriedly went to check hoping it wasn't Emil. When she got in front of their room, she tried to turn the knob but it was locked

"Emil? Emil anong nangyayari, okay ka lang ba?" she asked worriedly while knocking

"A-Ah oo! Okay lang ako, just wait for me outside!" she heard Emil reply, she could sense that he was in distress by the way he responded

"Emil, buksan mo ang pinto. Okay ka lang ba talaga?"

"I'm okay! Hintayin mo na lang ako."

"Ano ba kasing ginagawa mo?"

"N-Nothing!"

"Open the door, Emil!" she shouted

"W-Wait! Hindi ko pa tapos yung decorations!" Emil replied

"Decorations?" she asked baffled

"My surprise for yo—" Emil realized what just happened and then mentally scolded himself for spoiling his surprise to his wife.

Emil stopped what he was doing and then went to open the door. She found Eloisa standing while suppressing her laughter but when she spotted him, her soft giggles turned into a loud laugh

Emil pouted his lips and scratched his head "Surprise killer.." he mumbled to his wife

"Mister Buenaventura, ikaw ang nadulas 'no!" Eloisa said laughing

Eloisa went inside their room to see what Emil prepared for her, the whole room was filled with balloons and garlands, and her gaze caught the "Happy Birthday, Hon" balloons attached to one of the walls.

Eloisa turned to her husband and found him carrying a beautiful bouquet of lilies, her favorite. Her eyes instantly pooled with tears; happy tears.

"Happy birthday, Eloisa. I love you."

Eloisa dumped herself into Emil's chest and hugged him tight, "Thank you, I love you." she said crying

Emil, without breaking their hug, carefully placed the bouquet he was holding on the table beside them and hugged his wife tightly.

"Oh, cry baby ka naman ngayon? Tahan na, birthday mo oh." he jokingly said while rubbing her back.

Eloisa pulled away from their hug, "Ikaw eh! Sabi mo kagabi magdi-dinner lang tayo for my birthday tapos mag pa-ganito ka pa." she ranted like a child

"Of course, I had to do something for my beautiful wife," he said while wiping her tears

Eloisa's face lit up, "Thank you, Emil." she said sincerely

Emil smiled and tucked her hair behind her ears before pulling her for a sweet kiss, they exchanged "I love you's" in between.
