CH.3 RJ
It was May 9th of the year 2000, at eleven thirty in the morning. Renjun knocked at the door of the fencing training room.
The journalist was greeted by their coach, "Oh, you must be Renjun, the sports writer. Come in."
Renjun awkwardly nodded.
The older smiled as he let renjun in the very noisy room.
"You're friend is already filming over there." The coach pointed at Yangyang with his camcorder.
Renjun waved at the photojournalist, making the other smile.
There were a total of three matches on-going at the same time, and the athletes would shout everytime they won a point.
Renjun couldn't mask his shocked expression.
"They do that to release tension, it help shake off the nervousness." The coach explained upon seeing Renjun's face.
"So, any athlete you'd like to talk to? I could pull them out for about five minutes."
"Oh, no, sir. I can just wait for their break." Renjun smiled, he didn't want to cause a delay to the team after all.
"Sure." The coach got back to survey the matches.
Renjun sat on a bench with his clipboard and pen, and lightly bounced his right knee up and down.
He had a tendency to fidget when he was bored or nervous.
"Hey."
A fencer went up to swipe his water bottle from the same bench Renjun was sitting on.
The writer stood up and bowed, "Hello, I'm Huang Renjun. I'm here to interview the team for the sports column in the school paper."
"Nice. I'm Hendery, you can interview me first." Hendery outstretched his hand at Renjun.
Suddenly, he was pulled from behind his jacket.
It was the blonde boy from the bus. Renjun recognised him.
"MP3?" He whispered, as he saw the boy's face up close. He had very distinct features.
"I don't know what you're doing, but we have a match to continue."
Jeno said in a monotonous voice, making Hendery obey. He mouthed a 'sorry' to Renjun, who can only feel amused by the situation.
The writer watched Jeno put on his headgear and plugged it into a wire.
Hendery did the same as they went into their positions.
They caught the coach's eyes as he walked to the two.
