It was May 11th of the year 2000, when Renjun finally hung out with Chenle and Donghyuck at a cafe after school.

Well, they couldn't totally hangout because they were studying. The CSAT date was getting close so they had no choice but to start.

"You're so lucky, you don't have to go to college. You still have a year left." Donghyuck frowned at Chenle.

"I'll be taking the CSAT next year, might as well start preparing for it this year."

Renjun felt proud at Chenle's mindset. "That's right."

Donghyuck then turned to Renjun. "Which university are you even applying to?"

Renjun felt very nervous as Donghyuck asked that. "Well, I was thinking about Columbia University, but I'm still debating it."

Chenle and Donghyuck looked at the writer with wide eyes, "You want to study abroad?"

"Look, I haven't fully thought about it yet. I get stressed when I do, alright?"

It's true. Renjun felt like his heart is getting crushed whenever he thought of leaving everyone he loves to go to New York.

But then somehow, he knew it was what he was bound to do.

Renjun internally scoffed at himself, making decisions at hypothetical situations.

He wasn't even sure if they'll accept him and he hasn't even written the essay yet because of the stupid writer's block he was having.

"Fine, whatever." Donghyuck dropped the topic.

The trio all silently studied by themselves all afternoon, asking questions here and there, that sometimes turned into gossip. Though Renjun was quick to dismiss it whenever it happened.

The clock struck seven in the evening, making Donghyuck yawn loudly.

It caused Chenle to yawn, and Renjun was soon infected too.

"I want to sleep, but I haven't finished calculus yet." Donghyuck burried his head into the math textbook.

The door of the cafe opened, and Mark walked in. Donghyuck's energy was suddenly replenished.

"Mark!"

Donghyuck stood up and greeted Mark with a hug. The canadian wrapped an arm around Donghyuck's waist as he pulled him tighter.

"Hey, sunshine." He kissed Donghyuck's cheek.

"I just finished editing some snippets of the newspaper so I'm here to take you home."
