Warm sunlight poured through my curtains, making me squint my eyes before opening them. Sitting up fully, I go to the shower to get ready for the day. I always wake up earlier than either of my sisters, so we don't end up arguing over who goes first.

Back in my room, I go to the wardrobe and pick out an outfit.

I pull out a light brown wool turtleneck paired with a cropped chequered shirt in green and a pair of dark brown slacks. The 60s/70s didn't have much in the way of the clothes I was used to, and the clothes they did were not my style at all. My pants reach just above my ankles and are folded. I pull on my brown leather boots and white socks that show just a little.

I grab half of my hair and tie it back using a vintage white bow.

I make my way into the kitchen while fastening my watch.

"Do you think that Daisy should set up a separate vault, Mum?" I look over at Lilly just as I've taken my seat.

"Why would she need a separate vault?" Dad mutters as he makes his way over with his cup of coffee. Petunia is ignoring all of us and doing extra homework for when school starts. Ever since I got my Hogwarts letter and she knew I wouldn't be attending school with her, she's been studying extra hard to enter the start of year mathematics comp.

"It will be more efficient if I have a separate vault." I decided on just some honey porridge today. It's not too warm outside, but there is still some warmth from the sun. Such is August weather.

"How? I'd think sharing one would make it much quicker than having to go to two different vaults?" My mum points out a good question. Except when we were then 17, we would have to register to an entirely new vault.

"It would be quicker, but remember when we first set up my vault, they offered a special interest rate for anyone who set up their first vault with Gringotts." Lilly looks at both my mum and dad while explaining that only dad went with Lilly to set up her vault the first time while the rest of us were at home.

"Okay. I'll call in with work and tell them I'll be an hour late. They won't complain as I'm supposed to be off today anyway," Dad lowly mutters the last part under his breath, causing my mum to laugh.

Once everyone is finished with breakfast, Dad, Lilly, and I all make our way to the car to the Leaky Cauldron. Mum and Petunia decided that with the change of plans, they would meet up with us when we finished up.

As soon as we step out of the car and make our way into the Leaky Cauldron, we go to the alley in the back. Lilly taps the bricks in a particular pattern, and as she finishes, I hear a rumble like distant thunder as the bricks start to move.

"Did you remember the pattern?" Lilly said good-naturedly.

"Yes, three up from the trash can and two across, and it is repeated thrice," I reply dazedly as I finally get my first look at Diagon Alley.

It's full of people bustling about with their kids running around in all directions, trying to get all of their school supplies before the new year. I distantly hear the archway closing behind us as we finally step out onto Diagon Alley. I grab my bag and move it to my left shoulder so it sits across my body instead.

"Okay, smarty pants-" My Dad says with a smile before he is interrupted by Lilly, who walks in front of us and then turns to face us with her arms stretched wide and a smile so wide it shows all of her teeth.

"Welcome to Diagon Alley!" She exclaims so grandly that a few people stop and stare at her; some laugh and others shake their heads before carrying on walking.

"Okay, Lilly, come now. Daisy, we need to set up your vault, so we'll stop at Gringotts first then, I'm sure you can handle the rest if not, I will stay. Do you girls have your lists?"
