As he expresses himself
using the words he has kept
for himself for a while,
he hopes people will understand
how big of a step this is
for him
He's been alone,
afraid,
jealous,
exhausted,
pressured,
burnt-out,
and sick
of the things he can't control.
He regrets his past,
He is worried about his future,
He is barely surviving in the present.
But he is still going,
proving to himself,
to his peers, to his parents,
and even to irrelevant people
that he can succeed
and that he will.
He is tired,
so let him escape,
at least for a while.
Let him tell the words
inside his heart.
