Caius sat at his desk, the dim light from his laptop casting shadows on the walls. His fingers hovered over the keyboard, the earlier conversation with Enzo echoing in his mind.

“Alam mo ba kung ano ang pakiramdam na mamuhay sa isang mundo na walang masyadong ingay?”

Cauis said,

Enzo’s pulse quickened. The words echoed his own thoughts so precisely that he couldn’t shake the feeling of déjà vu. He quickly typed back,

“Araw-araw, parang ganon. Teka, sino ka?”

There was a pause, and then Cauis replied:

“Just someone who understands. Sometimes, we’re pulled together by threads we can’t see, looking for the same answers. Kung handa ka na sabihin mo lang.”

Suddenly, a peculiar feeling washed over him, an inexplicable sense of anticipation. It was as if the universe had conspired to bring them together for a reason.

As he stared at the screen, he thought about the red string of fate, a concept he had often pondered. The idea that certain souls are destined to meet, bound by invisible threads connecting their hearts and minds.

He had always believed in it, even if he had yet to experience it in his own life.

Just then, a notification popped up. Caius's heart raced as he opened it, half-expecting a message from Enzo.

Instead, his screen flickered, and he could barely comprehend what was happening. A sudden rush of energy filled the room, and the air crackled with electricity.

Then, without warning, there he was—a figure appearing out of thin air, standing in his small apartment.

Caius blinked, his mind struggling to process the sight before him. The man was completely naked, his skin glistening under the soft light.

Wait, what the heck?! Sino ka?”

Caius exclaimed, both startled and intrigued. The stranger looked around, confusion etched on his face, as if he had just emerged from a dream.

“Where am I?”
“Anong nangyari?”
the man asked, his voice tinged with panic.

“Nandito ka sa apartment ko. Pero, wait—sino ka ba?”
Caius took a deep breath, trying to maintain his composure.

Enzo looked up, his eyes wide with realization. He saw a calendar with the Year 2021.

“I’m Enzo. I… I think I just came from the future.”

Caius felt his heart skip a beat. This was the same Enzo he had been talking to online—OldSoul21 had become a physical manifestation in front of him. The connection they shared through their messages now felt infinitely deeper.

“Future?” Caius echoed, trying to wrap his mind around the implications.

“Paano nangyari ‘yon? Tsaka bakit nakahubad ka?”
Cauis irritatedly said.

“I… I’m not sure. One moment I was at home in 2025, and the next, I felt this pull, like an invisible thread. Then, I just… appeared here.”
Enzo blushed, suddenly aware of his state.

“Teka nga, Pero kasi ang weird. Galing ka talaga sa Future?” “So itong situation ko ay Past na?”
Caius couldn’t help but feel a surge of  confusion.

“Yeah, sobrang surreal”
Enzo admitted, glancing around the apartment.

“Paano nangyaring magkausap tayo sa screen then suddenly we are together? saka paano mo ako nakakausap kung nasa Year 2021 ka?” Enzo being so confused.

The tension in the room began to ease as Caius allowed himself to marvel at the bizarre situation.

Baka dahil red string of fate?” he mused aloud, recalling the folklore he had always cherished.

“Baka nga talagang may connection tayo na hindi natin ma-explain.”
Cauis added.

Enzo nodded, his eyes brightening.

“Tama! Ang weird kasi, parang may spark na nararamdaman ko sayo simula pa lang ng usapan natin. Parang kilala na kita.”

Caius smiled, feeling the weight of the moment. “Let’s figure this out together. Pero bago muna yan, kailangan kitang bigyan ng damit.”

He rummaged through his drawers, pulling out a large T-shirt and some sweatpants. “Ito, isuot mo ito,” he said, tossing the items to Enzo. “Sana okay lang ‘to. At least, hindi ka na naked.”

Enzo slipped on the clothes, his demeanor shifting from confusion to a sense of comfort. “Salamat, Caius. Ang lahat ay napaka-strange, pero parang may purpose ako dito.”

Caius nodded, feeling the same pull he had sensed earlier. “Baka ito na ang chance natin to explore hindi lang kung paano ka napunta dito, kundi kung anong matutunan natin sa isa’t isa.”

Enzo took a deep breath, grounding himself in the moment. “Parang I always felt lost, kahit na sa buhay ko sa 2025. Parang naghahanap ako ng something real, tapos andito ako, nakikilala ka.”

The weight of Enzo’s words resonated deeply with Caius. “Baka ito ang chance natin to help each other discover kung ano yung ‘something real’ na ‘yan? Puwede tayong mag-explore ng mga truths about ourselves at ang weird na connection na meron tayo.”

As they began to talk more openly, the lines between their worlds blurred. The room filled with laughter and shared stories, each revelation drawing them closer together. For the first time, Caius felt a flicker of hope, as though the universe had finally aligned to show him that true connection was possible.

In that small apartment, two souls intertwined by the red string of fate began a journey that would change their lives..
