The next morning was a busy one. While the royal family was getting ready to meet their guest, Jonathan making sure to dress up nicely to impress the bard, his royal guard was on his way to retrieve the man.
Billy sighed; he did not want to be doing this, but it's his job. Actually, no, it wasn't. His job is to protect the Prince, not to fetch the man's crush for him. But, Jonathan asked him to do it, and the Queen signed off on it, so he had to carry out his duty. It took him a while to walk out of the castle, off the grounds, and into the town. Now if he could only remember where exactly the shop was. Finding it the first few times was easy, he just had to follow the music. But alas, the morning was silent today, no music, just birds chirping in the trees above, and the sound of the bustling village he was in. As he walked, giving everyone who said hello to him a small nod of acknowledgement, something caught his eye.
It was a little shop, smaller than some of the other buildings on the street, with a beautiful strawberry blonde standing near the doorway. Even in the morning, she looked so happy, so chipper. "Good morning, Sir!" she smiled.
Billy couldn't help but to stop and greet her. "Hello, miss," he replied. He couldn't help but to smile, the woman's was just so infectious. There was something about her, he felt drawn in. He glanced up at the sign hanging above the door. "Do you own this shop?" he asked.
"Yes, Sir," the woman replied, "I saved up all my money to start up my own shop." She looked proud of it.
Billy smiled. "Well, that is great to hear. What, may I ask, do you specialize in? Maybe I'm interested in buying it."
"If I could take time out of your busy morning to show you, please step in!" The woman walked into the shop, moving quickly behind the counter. There were many shelves with product scattered onto them; mannequins with beautiful clothing displayed onto it, and in the front, on the counter, were beautiful rings, necklaces and bracelets made of silver and gold. "I'm a seamstress, so I make my own clothes, but my father works in a mine. He brings me all these beautiful jewels and I fasten them into jewelry," she explained, "The clothing, I've made myself since I was a little girl, but the jewelry is a relatively new skill I've developed. My father thinks they're worthy of selling, so once I've gotten my own shop, I decided to try out his advice and make it two shops into one!"
Billy whistled lowly, impressed. "You made all of this by yourself? That is very impressive, if I may say so, miss," he replied. His eyes went to the jewelry display on the counter, and he smiled. "It is hard to ignore the craftsmanship of these. You really made these by yourself?" He glanced up at the woman.
"Yes, Sir," the woman replied, smiling, "You may call me Chrissy, if it is alright with you. May I ask your name, Sir Knight?" She held out her hand.
Billy chuckled softly. "My name is Billy. It is nice to meet you, Miss Chrissy." He took Chrissy's hand and gave it a soft kiss, earning a giggle from her. He then let go of it and turned back to the jewelry. One of the bracelets caught his eye. It was a silver chained band, with a light brown stone, similar to the mead he had with his dinner last night. "What is this stone?"
Chrissy turned to look at which one the knight was pointing at. "That is morganite," she replied, "They can range from a more brown color like this one is, or to a sort of peach or pinkish color like this one." She pointed to a silver ring, with a baby pink gem settled right in the middle. "Not many people know of this gem, but it's one of my favorites, mostly because pink is my favorite color. It is no surprise that rose quartz is my favorite gemstone." She giggled.
Billy couldn't help but to smile. "This reminds me of his eyes..." he said to himself in a whisper, holding the bracelet gently in his hand, moving it closer to his face so he could see it better. "I wonder if he would like it."
