Adam chuckled softly, his expression relaxed. Adam's chuckled expression was a blend of warmth and mischief. His lips curved into a broad, genuine smile that crinkled the corners of his dark brown eyes, giving them a playful glimmer. The laughter seemed to light up his face, showcasing his strong jawline and the hint of a dimple on one cheek. When he chuckled, it was as if the world around him faded momentarily, leaving just that infectious joy. The way his shoulders relaxed and he tilted his head slightly added an inviting, laid-back vibe, making it clear that he was comfortable and enjoying the moment. It was an expression that drew people in, effortlessly bridging the gap between humor and charm. I felt his eyes on me, and his calm presence put me a bit more at ease. Maybe the night wasn't over just yet.
The night grew late, and the drinks kept flowing, leaving me tipsy and Irwan more than a little drunk. We danced without a care, belting out lyrics to songs we half-knew, caught up in the infectious energy of the crowd. Adam, meanwhile, stood back, leaning against the wooden wall, watching us with a quiet smile as he stared occasionally out at the beach.
I slipped away from the dance floor and came to stand beside him, grinning. "You know, you should take my number."
He raised an eyebrow, a small smirk playing at his lips. "Yeah? And why's that?"
I shrugged playfully. "I don't know. I just think you should, you know, just in case."
Adam chuckled, his gaze holding mine for a beat before he said, "Alright." He took out his phone, and I recited my number, watching as he saved it with a small, thoughtful smile.
Feeling a little thrill, I shot him a grin before heading back to dance with Irwan. The hours melted away, laughter and music blending into a perfect, hazy memory as the night stretched toward morning.
By the time we left the bar, it was nearly 2 a.m. The three of us walked slowly along the moonlit path back to the hotel, the cool night air refreshing after the warmth of the bar. I couldn't resist waving to a few familiar faces, locals who called out my name with warm shouts and laughter. I waved back, grinning.
Adam glanced at me, curious. "Are you from here?"
I shook my head casually. "No, just a regular visitor. I come here once in a while, so I guess I've gotten to know a few people."
He nodded, his expression softening, as if seeing me in a new light. The beach's soft waves echoed in the distance as we continued our slow walk.
