Thunder cracked across the sky as I dashed into the ancient ruins, sweat stinging my eyes. The pirates were gaining.Another explosion echoed in the distance, a grim reminder of their relentless pursuit. This wasn’t my first brush with these ruthless sea dogs, but the stakes had never been higher.
I paused at a stone window, the moonlight illuminating the tumultuous sea below. A grin spread across my face as a surge of adrenaline coursed through me.
"Wait!" A woman screamed on my left, running towards me. I glanced at her and flashed a grin as she halted and stared at me, frozen.
I kicked off my shoes and let my hair loose, the wind whipping through the strands. With a final glance at my pursuers—one toothless, the other bald and bloodied—I leaped into the void.
A chorus of curses followed me as I plunged into the churning waters. But as I broke the surface, I emerged transformed.
My legs morphed into a magnificent tail, propelling me through the waves. The pirates were left behind, their threats lost to the roar of the ocean.
I went up to see their mind losing at yet another mischief I brought to them but my grin turned into a thinking look as my eyes landed to the woman who shouted at me earlier.
She was still in the very same spot where I saw her, still in the very same position. But it seems like she's staring at me amidst the strong waves and dark night, directly at my soul.
