Lamolee Killian woke up when the sun was beginning to rise and looked over at the clock seeing he had two hours before he had to be at the academy and so he got up and got dressed looking to see if he had time to go and get something to eat but when he noticed he never had any food left in his fridge, he was staying in the spare apartment of a sweet elderly couple and the fourteen year old felt guilty about taking anything that belonged to the couple, he often bought groceries for them sacrificing the food for himself but he knew that he could eat at the academy for free so often he would take lots and wrap it up to bring home. He got ready and left his apartment passing the elderly man on his way out with a smile and wave "See you later Mr. Trinket!" He says and the man raises a hand "see you later Lee." The man says and Lamolee leaves.

He begins his usual walk to get to the academy, he always walked to get there, most of his classmates had chauffeurs to bring them to the academy but Lamolee didn't see the point in that, he was more than capable of walking so why shouldn't he? He walked down the street occasionally nodding and waving to people who passed him by and he would look around as he walked taking it all in. He loved the Capitol, it was a beautiful place, the only downside was that most of the people that lived there weren't so beautiful. A lot of them were selfish and greedy and wouldn't do anything if they couldn't see it benefitting themselves but there were a lot of good people in the Capitol as well, people who would help and people would do things that didn't benefit themselves and Lamolee liked to think that people in the districts were the same. He often wondered if the districts and the Capitol would ever be able to get along but then he thinks back to the dark days, when he lost his parents in the war, he was only four when the war ended and he was so scared because he was alone, then the Trinkets took him in after learning about his parents deaths, they had known his parents and so they had raised him ever since. The elderly couple had their own children as well but they were all grown and working so they liked having Lamolee around, he was a good kid and always so helpful to them.

He arrives at the Academy and he sees one of the older boys who he spoke to often "Corio!" He called out with a smile and the white haired boy turned to face him "Lamb, glad you could get here." He says and the boy grins walking over "I was so excited! You'll definitely win the Plinth prize! You've done so much hard work!" The boy says and Coriolanus ruffles his hair making him whine and move away "Coriolanus! I just fixed it!" He says fixing his hair and they begin walking in together and Coriolanus puts an arm around the boy's shoulders and they walk in happily until they hear a familiar voice behind them "Why, Coriolanus Snow... Lamolee." Clemmie says from behind them and Lamolee sees Coriolanus roll his eyes before turning to the girl dropping his arm.

"Clemmie." He says and she comes over taking his arm and she nudges Lamolee out of the way making him sigh and follow after them "Are you sweating?" Clemmie asks Corio and he just looks down at her "It's Reaping Day. We gave driver the morning off, come on Lamb." He says looking behind him and making sure that Lamolee was following him "Ugh! That ingrate should be begging to chauffeur you around today... Just don't forget. I was your class partner while you're gloating over the Plinth Prize." She says and Lamolee rolls his eyes, of course all she cared about was the money. "Prize? Please. I just want to serve Panem." Corio says and Lamolee heard Corio's stomach rumbling causing his own to do the same and Clemmie looked between both of them "Hungry?" She asks the boys and Corio looks at Lamolee who was on his other side now. "I uh... geuss I forgot, I was cheking on Mr. and Mrs. Trinket." He says and they nod.

"Cook served steak for breakfast... We had to throw half out." Coriolanus says and it causes Lamolee to frown "Shame on you, Corio. Don't you know that they're starving in the districts?" Clemmie says and they continue their walk to the others and when they get in Clemmie lets go of his arm "Good luck. Not that you'll need it." She says and walks off and Corio check Lamolee is still beside him and they greet a few people as they pass and they end up walking over to the small group of Felix, Arachne and Festus. "Finally, the star pupil." Felix says looking at Coriolanus and Arachne looks at his shirt "That's a snazzy shirt." She says and Lamolee nodded thinking she was being genuinely nice "Yeah it is Corio!" He says and the boy knew Lamolee was being genuine. "What are those buttons, tesserae?" She sneers at him and Lamolee's smile disappears.
