Take his blood?

I folded my arms as I sat on the stool thinking about his words

He had left for his match but his words lingered. I was alone in the room for now and I kept thinking about it.

If I think about it logically, it's not a bad option. He knows I'm a vampire and that I need blood and he's willing to offer it to me. There are a number of vampires who have made this arrangement with humans.

And if I feed regularly, I won't starve. Seth is a strong man. I'm sure I won't have to worry about drinking from him.

But,

The problem is, he likes me. And if I agree, he might take that as a sign for something more and I can't have that. He's human and I'm someone with a long lifespan...

I sighed

It's best if I tell him I won't be taking his blood. I nodded to myself. Yeah. I have to tell him no

The door burst open, "Emergency doctor!" Two male staff members came in with a man on the stretcher, "This one was hit by spiked brass knuckles"

"What?" I slowly stood up from the stool, "Brass knuckles? How is that even possible? It's a boxing match."

"Yes," The moved towards the bed, "The other person was wearing them under his gloves." They began to move the patient on the bed and I paused.

Wait,

My eyes went to the patient and I felt the feeling of dread down my chest.

That's Seth!!

"Seth?" I whispered, half-hoping he'd just open his eyes and grin at me, saying it wasn't as bad as it looked. But he didn't respond, and a jolt of worry settled in. I brushed my hand over his forehead, checking for fever or any sign he might be going into shock. His skin was clammy but warm, his pulse steady under my fingers. I took a shaky breath, trying to focus on what needed to be done.

I turned to the staff behind me. "Disinfectant, clean cloth, and suture kit—quickly, please!" As they hurried to get the supplies, I inspected the wound, gingerly moving a few stray strands of his hair to see the damage. The gash was on the side of his forehead, probably from the hidden spiked knuckles, which left a deep cut that ran down to his brow. The bruising was already swelling around it. Whoever hit him must have packed quite a punch.

"Did you catch the other guy?" I asked as they gave me the supplies

I picked up a clean cloth and gently pressed it against the wound, trying to slow the bleeding, ignoring all the blood that had already gone down.

"Yes," One of them answered, "He was black listed from and thrown out."

"Good," I replied

Seth's eyelids fluttered slightly, a faint grimace passing over his face. Relief washed over me at that tiny sign of response—at least he wasn't completely unconscious.

"Hang in there, Seth," I murmured, keeping my voice low, though I wasn't sure if he could hear me. I kept the pressure firm but careful, trying not to worsen the bruising beneath. I counted silently, timing the pressure before I lifted the cloth to check. The bleeding had slowed, enough that I could start cleaning the wound without risking it reopening. I took the disinfectant and carefully dabbed along the edges, wiping away the blood that had trickled down his temple. He winced, a barely audible groan escaping his lips.

"I know, I know, I'm sorry," I whispered, pausing a moment before continuing, dabbing around each point where the skin was torn. Once the area was clean, I picked up the suture needle, threading it with a steady hand. I had done stitches countless times before, but something about doing it now, on him, made my heart pound a little faster.

"We'll be leaving," The staff said and I nodded at them

"Alright," I said and they left while Seth closed his eyes and went to sleep.

I finished the stitches and then paused. I stared at the blood trickling down his face.

...

I turned to look at the door, then looked back at him. The more I stared at his blood, the more my mind got dizzy and the weaker I felt.

Just the scent of it was so enticing, I don't think even a pure blood would be able to resist it.

I shook my head

I can't do this anymore. Now that the danger was gone, I came back to my senses. My vision swam at the sight of blood. It was actually the first time I saw Seth bleed like this. He always came with a lot of bruises but never this kind of injury.

I went to the door, locked in and went back to the bed he was sleeping on.

My stomach rumbled.

There was this sweet scent coming from his blood, something I had never smelled before. It got me feeling strange. It seemed to be bogging my mind. Fast

I climbed the bed and straddled him, without a second thought I licked the blood on his face.

!!!

I froze

OH MY GOD!! His blood is amazing!!!

I grabbed his face with one hand, and placed the other on the pillow right next to his face and deliriously began to run my tongue across his skin.

My heart rate increased.

More!

I want more! I gulped down all that came into my tongue. But it wasn't enough. This was spilled blood, I needed a full glass, directly going down my throat.

At the same time I felt something in my body.

As I licked away the last bit of what was on his face, I went down to his chest, there was some there too and I didn't stop to think what I was doing.

I put my tongue there and suddenly his body jolted.

It jolted so violently that I froze. Then slowly looked up to look at his face.

"Doc," He was looking down at me with his eyes wide, "What are you doing?"
