It had taken time to return to the Silver Fangs pack, and since they got in late Diego's meeting with the council would take place early the next morning. That time had now come, and Diego was ready for it, or he was getting there. The Mexican walked into a living room with the steam of his shower following him. He wore blue jeans, black loafers and a black unbuttoned dress shirt. His hair was freshly combed, and his stubble was neatly trimmed.

His form was lanky and looked quite good, save for the scar of five claws on his chest. A grim reminder of his last days in the OD, a reminder to remain sharp and ready. Purpose exuded from his form as he moved about the living room of his best friends. The room was like a big log cabin, humble and homey. Diego passed by the glowing coals in the fireplace, illuminating the rusty red couch, where proof of Diego's restful fog was left in the form of pillows and a light blue blanket.

The Mexican made it to his bags, rummaged through them to take out his spectacles and a collection of files. He silently closed the bags and cleaned away any debris he left behind. He was a guest, and from what little time he had with his mom she taught him to be a good one. Satisfied that he had everything he wanted, Diego buttoned his shirt and made his way into the dining room.

When he arrived, his eyes scanned over the modest room where his friends ate. The room was circular, there was a large dining table in the center that sat under a skylight that revealed the deep amber orange hues of the Omega dimension complete with its scattered asteroids. Diego noted the floral patterns carved into the mud brown wood that encapsulated the space with a feeling of warm affection. A decade had done little to change their tastes, Diego felt thankful for this. They rarely entertained because they were not big fans of home visits as they had told him. Him being the exception. Diego took a seat on one of the exquisitely carved highchairs and set about his business.

For a while he just sat in silence and was busy making sure his files were mistake free. "One error and I lose my bargaining chip." He mumbled, then flipped a page when he found the previous satisfactory.

He continued to do this, even when he heard the door open behind him. "Well aren't we busy this fine morning, I guess that holds the irresistible offer you spoke of?" Mike's voice graced his ears. He prompted a smile to appear on Diego's face. "Mind letting an old friend in on the secret?" Mike asked as he took a seat beside Diego.

Diego offered him a glance and a sly smile. "Let's just say I got what I needed for this during the days I snooped through Eric's secret files, but other than that you'll get to know when everyone else does. That tail of yours is on the council, so you'll know. Congratulations on that, again. It seems Elder Vandalia's time wasn't wasted mentoring you." He had said it at least three times last fog.

Mike leaned his bulky frame onto the high back of his chair. "And here I thought we were friends. Am I just another face on the council now? Ah, and I am certain Vincent would take offence to you staring at my tail." He grinned a bit, glad to be back to joking with his buddy.

"Ya got that right!" The chef called from his workstation.

Diego tried to suppress a laugh. "It ain't like that. There's just no point in explaining it to someone I know will hear it anyway" The Mexican shrugged. What he was talking about was top secret and would be considered so by the council, though he was sure Vincent would hear about it. Mike nodded his head. "Have it your way, I suppose. Still, wonder what was worth doing what you did. I remember you talking about your uncle. Damn asshole, you did right, and he got what was coming to him." Mike clapped Diego's in support. The wolf did not think Diego felt bad about hanging his uncle, but knew the feelings of coming here after burning other bridges were not easy to carry.

"No doubt. Oh..." Diego put the files down as the aroma of Vincent's cooking filled the well-lit room. "Vincent has become better at that. This will be the best breakfast I've had in years." He pointed his nose upwards to catch more whiffs of the delightful meal.
