An entire week had passed for the Silver Fangs pack. The lab Diego and Elder Koro would use was set up in the utmost secrecy, and the utmost caution. Anybody who entered Liz's home was screened by her mental powers, without their knowledge, as they came and went. Not one of them was even told what the lab would be used for, all they knew was the Alpha demanded it be done. During all this, Diego and Elder Koro scrutinized the former's notes repeatedly, and the Elder even brought his old writings into the mix. An entire week of painstakingly careful effort ended with the lab being ready to go, and no traitors to speak of.

All three sat within the small, black tiled lab. Liz sat in a patient's chair as Diego adjusted a butterfly needle into her right forearm. The woman had opted for black sneakers, disco pants, and a red sleeveless top. The Alpha kept her gaze away from Diego's face, doing as she had been all week, ignoring the man she loves. A tactic that made Diego frown, even as he finished securing the needle. "It's good to go, Elder."

The old man nodded and began draining some of Liz's blood. The two men, clad in lab coats, sat back against a desk which held beakers, vials and various other chemical equipment. "How much blood will you need?" Liz asked as she watched the blood drain into a large beaker. "And how is Alpha blood so necessary to this?" Something she hadn't really understood when she read Diego's work. "And how did you figure out the honored mages' riddle?" She realized and regarded Diego with annoyance and worry.

Glad she was at least talking to him, the Mexican put on an easy smile and held up his hands. "An Alpha had business in Mexico City a few months back. Things got bloody, and I already suspected Alpha blood to be an ingredient due to the riddle 'Two lay in ichor, both aeons rich and newly rare.' and so it was just luck that I got to test this out." He shook his head slightly when he saw Liz suspect that he got involved. "The man was bleeding a lot after everything, pretty much everyone was passed out. I used a can of GONE and collected a few litres of blood...After stabbing a silver into him."

"Why am I not surprised you did something that reckless?" Liz sighed and glared when Diego thought to give her a snarky response. "Answer the other questions."

Seeing the state of affairs between the mates, Koro decided to take this one. "We need some ten litres. Alphas have many properties: Your power over other wolves, the superior body," Diego winked at her at that part "Healing factor, and a greater resistance to the LPV. Few Alphas die to it."

Liz curled her lip at that. "I suppose that makes sense, I doubt the humans would have wanted their favored puppets to die off quickly." She spat, disgust and shame lighting up her eyes. The Elder shifted a bit in response.

"Huh?" The only one to register confusion was Diego, who scratched his head at their silence. "Anyone want to tell me what that means? I never had much time to go in depth with werewolf history." He looked at Liz for the answer, but she avoided his eyes. Grumbling a bit in response, he looked to Elder Koro.

The old man felt awkwardness creep up his neck as he looked between his leader and her mate. Koro did not want a part in their drama. As an escape, he answered Diego's question. "Some think that humans created Alphas to better control the werewolf race, while others think it was always within the serum. Just discovered later. Either way, they pampered these superior wolves, bargained with them, bullied them, etc., into helping humans keep a stranglehold on werewolves." Elder Koro's own disgust was heard plainly in his voice. "The honored mages used spells to resist this, they are the only reason we have this dimension today."

Diego's eyes flickered with some recognition. "I know this part. The honored mages were the strongest of the werewolf mages. They bound the Khaos energy in this dimension to make a seal capable of keeping anything of the non-lycan variety out unless invited, so there are no more mages that can practice the art here because of that. They were attacked by wolves near the end of the Freak Revolution in the 1800s, then...ummm," Diego put his right hand to his temple to recall the information.
