The world had changed in an instant, the air thick with the acrid scent of smoke and despair. What had once been Westridge High was now a skeletal structure, its walls crumbling under the weight of chaos. I stood amidst the wreckage, my heart racing, the memories of laughter and ambition haunting the stillness.

In the aftermath of the nuclear bomb attack, the sun hung low in the sky, casting eerie shadows across the landscape. My friends and I had survived, but we were left grappling with the devastation around us. What had once been our safe haven was now a wasteland, the vibrant life replaced by an unsettling silence.

"Elmara! Over here!" Luan's voice cut through the haze, pulling me back to reality. I turned to see him waving frantically, his face smeared with ash and worry. He stood beside Safestia and Kyewlli, their expressions mirroring my own—a mix of disbelief and determination.

"Are you all okay?" I asked, rushing to their side. "What happened? How did we survive?"

"I don't know," Luan said, his voice shaky. "I remember the explosion, and then... there was this blinding light. It felt like everything was pulled away from us."

"That light," Safestia murmured, her eyes wide. "It was almost... alive. It engulfed us, and then everything went dark."

Before I could respond, a tremor rippled through the ground, sending us stumbling back. The sky darkened, and a low rumble filled the air, growing louder until it felt like the world itself was breaking apart. And then, just as quickly, it stopped.

In that moment of silence, everything shifted. The ground beneath us faded into nothingness, and we were enveloped by that same blinding light. I felt myself being pulled, my body weightless, as if I were dissolving into the very fabric of reality.

When the light finally receded, I blinked against the brightness, my surroundings shifting into focus...
