It had been almost a month since I woke up in the fictional world of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's and it still felt surreal to me. Even so, I had been able to adapt to my new life while staying in Yusei's underground base. I could tell he still doubted me, but he seemed to trust me every passing day. Rally, Tank and Blitz opened up quickly and accepted me. Nervin was still a bit hostile towards me, but I didn't care. I had done nothing to lose the group's trust and I didn't want to do something extreme to prove that I was a good person. You needed time to gain trust and faith from those around you. The boys were nice and provided me with small, unnecessary things, like a toothbrush, towel, clothes and even a notebook when I pointed out I liked to write a lot.

Since I was living in Yusei's place, I tried helping out with whatever I could to earn my keep, like cook easy meals, clean up the place a bit, or even help Yusei with his Duel Runner. When it came to hygiene, it was actually the toughest part. There was a toilet that was functioning in the subway where Yusei and I could do our business, but it was a different story when it came to washing our hair or even clean ourselves. There was no shower, so the only way we could wash ourselves was using the washbowl in the toilet. Another problem was the hot water. We had to boil cold water in order to brush our teeth and wash our hair. That part wasn't troubling, but the real trouble for me at first was washing myself clean. I figured out a way by soaking a towel and rubbing it against my naked body behind closed doors. It wasn't the best way, but it was better than nothing.

After the first week staying there, Yusei allowed me to take a closer look at his Duel Runner. He taught me a few things like programming and mechanics. While I didn't understand everything, it was nice to learn something new. My crush on Yusei calmed down over time as I got to know him better.

One day, when I opened my satchel and pulled out my Deck to check if it was still the same, I realized some of my cards were missing. Back in my dimension, I had added copies of Stardust Dragon, Black Rose Dragon and Number 46: Dragluon to my extra deck, but those were gone now. I had asked the boys if they had peeked around in my bag and they said no. Rally had spotted my deck and asked excitedly if I wanted to duel. So, on that day, I experienced my first duel with a real Duel Disk and my first duel with Yusei. As you can probably imagine, I lost to him.

I also got to know how old the boys were. Rally was eleven years old, being the youngest and Blitz was twenty-one, the oldest. Nervin and Tank were twenty years old and Yusei was to my surprise, only seventeen years old. He did mention his birthday was coming up in July and it was June right now, so he would soon be eighteen years old, just like in the anime.

A few days ago, Rally found an expensive acceleration chip in the middle of the street and gave it to Yusei. It turned out Jack had set it up for Sector Security to take care of him and his Duel Runner. Just like in the anime, Yusei defeated Officer Trudge and returned safely.

This also meant it was soon time for Yusei to head to New Domino City and reclaim his Stardust Dragon.

Yusei and Rally had skipped work today so they could test the older boy's Duel Runner and see how fast it could go with the acceleration chip. I sat inside the hut and wrote in my notebook, using half of it as my personal diary, which I wrote in Swedish. My stories and other notes were written in English, just to make sure the boys didn't raise more of a doubt about my amnesia story.

I could hear Yusei drive past the base several times in a flash as Rally timed him. The way the Duel Runner sounded was like lightning that flashed by. Perhaps Yusei can name his Duel Runner "The Red Flash" one day. I laughed inwardly at my joke as I wrote that idea down in the notebook.

I was also coming up with a few theories of how I ended up in this fictional dimension in the first place. A voice in the back of my head told me this was the Crimson Dragon's doing. But why would a fictional god choose someone like me to bring to it's world? Did the Crimson Dragon see something special in me or something? I doubted it because of my dragon deck. And what happened to my existence in my dimension? Was I a missing person? Were my parents looking for me? I had so many questions that didn't have answers yet.
