While I lived with Yusei in the Satellite, before we went to New Domino City, the Satellite wasn't as scary as it appeared in the anime during the day. At least, that's what I thought before seeing the Satellite during the evening for the first time.
The ruined buildings with shattered windows and open walls cast scary shadows around me, Rally, Nervin, Blitz and Tank while we pushed Yusei's Duel Runner across the empty streets. I was pushing the Duel Runner from the back while the boys walked next to the Runner and steered it. I felt a shiver run down my spine as sinister laughter echoed from the ruins. That meant trouble was coming.
"I could really go for a doughnut right about now." Tank groaned, his stomach growling due to hunger.
"When could you not go for a doughnut, Tank?" Blitz grumbled.
"We still got a long way to go! Don't you start complaining now!" Nervin hollered.
"Try to hold the hunger back until we get to Martha's place, Tank. Maybe there, if we're lucky, she might give us some bread." I calmly said.
The laughter from earlier now sounded really close, as if it was coming from the open street. I peeked from the back of the Runner to see a group of men in shabby clothes, all of them marked, had blocked our way, forcing us to stop walking.
"You lost or something?" One of the bad men asked nonchalantly.
"Uh oh." Nervin grimaced.
"Need a ride home?" Another man mockingly asked.
"Nice Runner." Another one commented.
Blitz and I turned around as several men had blocked the way behind us.
"Any ideas?" Blitz asked the rest of our group.
"There is a toll passing through Outcast Alley, you know." One of the men said.
"That shiny red bike you towed would take care of it." A fourth person added.
Blitz picked up a metal pole that lied right next to his feet and used it to push a man with long hair away. "Just back off, buddy! Why don't you crawl back into the sewer you came from?!"
The sound of a Duel Runner engine could be heard as it pulled up behind us.
"Take Yusei's Runner and go to Martha's. I'll meet up with you there after scaring these fools off." The rider activated his Duel Disk and placed monster cards with red, blue and yellow borders on it.
Two of the three monsters, dragons to be specific, roared at the men. They ran away in fear after realizing these were some of the three Legendary God cards, some of the strongest Duel Monsters in the game.
In only a few seconds, the streets were empty.
"Wow, that was something." Tank commented.
"Talk about scary monsters." Nervin swallowed nervously.
"The three Legendary Gods, huh?" I remarked.
"You probably would have done the same thing with Trident Dragion." Ash replied.
"What?" Blitz, Nervin, Rally and Tank asked at the same time.
"Yeah, I can make Duel Monsters become real with my Star Mark and they can do real damage."
"You're like a psychic duelist? Cool!" Rally smiled widely with shiny eyes.
"Cool or not, we need to go before those thugs come back and try to steal the Duel Runner again." Nervin reminded us.
