Yusei and I stepped aside to let the paramedics take care of Jack. One of them removed Jack's helmet and wrapped some bandages around his head while two other paramedics rolled a stretcher out to the Duel Runner course. Four paramedics picked Jack up as gently as they could and put him on the stretcher before strapping his body on it and covered him with a blanket.
"Excuse me, is Jack going to be okay?" I asked the paramedics.
"Don't worry, Mr. Atlas is gonna be fine." One of the male paramedics replied. "We just need to get him to the clinic for some routine tests." He turned to Yusei and gave him a nod. "Oh and congratulations, kid."
We watched the paramedics roll the stretcher away to hurry to the waiting ambulance outside the Kaiba Dome. I could tell that Yusei was worried about Jack, but there was nothing we could do now. Our heads snapped up when we heard voices from the stands shouting at Yusei for cheating during the duel and a Satellite should return to the garbage island and other stuff. We ignored those bullies because they weren't worth our attention. Still, the majority cheered for Yusei for showing that a Satellite could be something other than a rat living in the dirt.
"Yusei! Estelle!" Leo's voice called.
The two of us turned around and saw Yanagi, Tanner and Leo rush out to the Duel Runner course. Tanner went straight to Yusei's Duel Runner to secure it and roll it away.
"Hey guys." Yusei called as Yanagi and Leo reached us. "Everyone okay?"
"We're fine, but you're about to face a brand new enemy!" Yanagi exclaimed as he pointed at the crowd with reporters not far away from us that tried to get through a gate. "The media!"
Just one second after that, the reporters broke down the gate and they rushed towards us across the course, hoping to interview the new King of Games.
"They're loose!" Leo gasped.
"You had to jinx us, Yanagi!" I shouted irritably.
"Better rev it up!" Tanner called as he rolled Yusei's Duel Runner towards a garage.
"Coming!" Yusei nodded.
We didn't waste any time and ran off the course, following Tanner towards the garage where Luna and Dexter were waiting. The ex-pro duelist pushed something on the wall that opened a hidden path.
"Go, quick!" Tanner called as he rolled the Duel Runner into it.
The rest of us followed him, but I glanced over my shoulder to see that the secret door was already closing before it got dark in the tunnel. I immediately heard Luna's scared whimper, so I squinted my eyes to spot her. She was walking next to Leo, but her hands were clenched to her chest. I stepped over to her and grabbed one of her hands, unfolding it so I could hold her hand properly. I could sense her tense body relaxing once she had someone by her side.
"Man, it's so dark." Leo commented. "I can't even see my own feet."
"Hang on." Yusei called.
I heard Yusei step over to his Duel Runner before he activated the headlights, lighting up the huge tunnel.
"Where are we?" Dexter questioned.
"This is an abandoned service tunnel." Tanner answered as he continued rolling Yusei's Duel Runner along.
"Cool!" Dexter commented. "Hey, Tanner, how'd you know this was down here?"
"A guy like me knows these things." Tanner replied. "That, and Blister told me."
"I have no idea what happened to you in that light, but I'm thrilled you won the tournament, Yusei." Yanagi smiled.
"I knew you could do it, Yusei!" Leo said excitedly. "You're like the best duelist I've ever seen! You're like my hero!" Dexter nodded in agreement.
