Coffee and Nepotism

Aaron POV:
As I was in a pretty good mood from the previous day, I decided to go out to get coffee to start my day, and then I found myself facing... Ein, again

"Look who's here, bumping into each other 2 days in a row, must be fate," he smiled gleefully. It sent shivers down my spine; the air around him was odd.

"I guess... What brings you here?" I asked him

"I came here to grab a coffee," he answered.

I stared at Ein. His eyes had a green gleam I hadn't noticed before. I snapped out of it and said

"What a coincidence... Me too..." It probably was just a coincidence; at least, that's what I thought at the time.

"Would you like to get coffee and chat? On me," he asked

He was so relaxed while my heart was thumping in my chest, my hands were sweaty, and my arms were covered in goosebumps. I calmed myself down and said, "Umm... Sure, why not?".

We got our coffees and sat down, Ein chose a secluded area, which didn't make me believe that he just wanted to talk. The air was tense, and the silence was deafening. 5 minutes passed, and noise finally tore through.

"So, you do business," Ein said.

It was a harmless question, so I simply answered.

"Yeah, I do."

'"How'd you get into that industry?" he asked.

I considered whether to tell him and ended up being vague with my answer.

"My parents own a studio, and I'm the heir to it."

"So you're a nepo baby, " he concluded

"Without the benefits, " I blurted out of nowhere, hadn't thought before speaking.

I really didn't have any. In my parent's eyes, I was a mistake, something that needed to be fixed.

"The only thing I get is my dad breathing down my neck, making sure I don't do anything out of place," I exclaimed. "He's been doing it my whole life."

"Trying to keep records clean, huh? That must be fun," he said and then asked, "Hey, do you know how everyone else I doing? You know, Aph, Katelyn?"

I didn't think that he'd ask, but if he wanted to fix things, he would want to know how they're doing.

"Well, Katelyn has been doing theatre, and Aphmau opened a maid cafe with Kawaii Chan."

"So she's also doing business."

"It feels like everyone is doing business at this point, Zane is super into it."

"You dont seem interested," Ein stated

"It's never really been my thing, but I always knew that I would be the heir to the company, so I never got the chance to weigh my options."

"You know, when I was younger, I wanted to be an actor, but I dont think anyone would want to hire someone with a criminal record," he told me

I felt kinda bad for him, I knew that he would be a good actor. He fooled everyone in high school.

"I didn't want to be anything when I was younger..." I said, "I just wanted to make my parents proud, but that means I wouldn't get to do stuff that I enjoy."

"What kind of job would you enjoy?"

"I'm not sure, I got my previous job to support someone, and the ones before that were to make money."

"It isn't too late to find out," he said

"For me, it is; I have my path set out for me."

We talked for a while, but suddenly, I started feeling odd, my head was spinning, and my eyelids were heavy. Ein noticed something was wrong and asked me

"Are you feeling well?"

"I feel vertigo," I said as my vision darkened.

"Good," he said with a grin on his face.

"What?" I could barely speak. My eyelids closed, and the last thing I heard was.

"You're more naive than I thought, I guess Aphmau's stupidity rubbed off on you. "

I shouldn't have given him the benefit of the doubt.
