JamesThe bass beat rattles deep inside my chest as I make my way around the crowded house filled with guys and chicks from school. Some faces I recognize more than others. Like Inez, Betty's best friend. We make eye contact for a split second, before she looks away. I take a sip from the beer in my hand as I stand in the middle of it all, kinda feeling like an outcast, which isn't really what I'm used to. I just need to find Brody.
I press myself through the packed bodies, the vague smell of pot spreading slowly throughout the room. I get out on the patio, overlooking the backyard. There's a chill breeze outside, but not cold enough to make you freeze. My gaze roams over the people that are outside, before it eventually lands on Brody standing in front of some garden furniture, his back against me. I walk down the stairs, my shoes meeting the green fluffy grass, and over to him. I tap on his Jersey clothed shoulder.
"For fuck sake man" he exclaims frustrated before he turns around and his eyes lands on me. It's not until then I notice the bare chested girl, sitting on top of the table with Brody standing between her parted legs. My eyes immediately searches for Brody's instead. All of a sudden it's pretty hot outside.
"Oh shit, didn't see it was you, J-bro" he says with a low chuckle as he flings his arm over my shoulders causing me to turn around.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt I just-" I start.
"No, don't worry 'bout it brother" he says lightly as he gives a quick nod to the girl before he leads me away from the girl. "She wasn't all that anyways." he continues, but now with a lower voice. "What even is it with girls and feeling the need to show their tits at all times? I mean... not that I complain.." he trails off with a tipsy smirk.
"Not all girls." I say sternly. "Betty's not like that. She saves that part for me only" I explain proudly. Brody dunks my back and laugh. "You get laid a lot huh?" he snickers.
I shrug my shoulders, the alcohol I've consumed is really making it hard to keep my thoughts to myself. "Yeah, I guess you can say that" I mumble as I look down at the ground.
"That's what I'm talking about!" He says with a smirk and dunk my back once again, this time harder. We make our way inside, the air filled with even more smoke now. I think that Brody may not have this party under control. Not that he really cares anyway. It's not really his thing, to care.
I walk over to the kitchen counter, looking at the different options of booze, eventually pouring some tequila into my red plastic cup. I toss my head back and swallow it instantly, the liquid numbing my critical thinking. I let out a grunt from the burning taste. I look over my shoulder and see Brody, standing in the middle of the floor with his tongue sticking down a Blondies throat. I roll my eyes before I grab a can of beer and open it, taking a quick sip as I start walking across the room, aiming for the bathroom. Right as I make my way around the corner I feel a body slam against mine, causing my beer to spill out of the can. I instantly look down in shock. It's a girl.
"Shit, I'm so sorry I-" I trail off as I notice her red flaming hair, fanning down over her bare shoulders. When our eyes catch each others gazes, I completely drown in her hazel eyes, I've never seen something like that before.
"No no, uhm it's okay" she mumbles and look down at her beer stained dress. It's a short flowy dress, that's sitting slightly tighter on her upper body.
I swallow, desperately trying to push down the feelings that simmering in my chest.
"It's my friends house, I'm sure you can borrow a shirt of his" I offer to her, hoping she would accept it.
