Chapter 14 the Truth

In this chapter you find out how Alexis and Felix's parents die.

         When I wake up in the morning, I'm lying on the ground next to Henry. It looks like the only other person a wake is Luke, and he's coming over my way. "Little Lexi, little, little Lexi, how's your nose feel?"

"It feels fine." I say looking anywhere but him.

"Aw... don't you want to talk to me?" he mocks.

Before I can answer Pan talks, "Luke get away from her. What have I said?"

"Yes Pan, sorry Pan." He mutters as he walks off. Pan pulls me up.

"What?" I snap.

"Do you want me to leave you alone with him? Maybe he'll break the rest of your bones."

"I'm fine." I say. "I don't always need or want your help." I say walking away.

Henry and I sit on opposite ends of a smaller clearing off of the main on, while the lost boys are climbing some ropes. "Ow!" I hear. I look up to see that a lost boy, Devin, I think poked Henry with a stick.

Devin scoffs looking at him. "So you're the kid that Pan's been looking for all this time?"

"Ask him." Henry replies a little panicked. Devin lunges for him. "Stop it!" Henry yelps. That gets everyone's attention.

"If you can't take this, how are you going to handle what Pan has in store for you?"

Henry picks up a stick and Devin whispers 'yes'. I feel hands on my shoulders and I turn to see Felix. "You aren't to interfere with their fighting." He whispers in my ear. I watch as they start to fight.

"They have sticks, what harm can they do?" I whisper back.

Suddenly Pan shows up, "Not bad, but wouldn't it be more fun if you had real swords?"

"I've never used a real sword." Henry tells him.

"This is Neverland, and you have the heart of the truest believer. You can use whatever you want. You just need to believe. Close your eyes and believe that you're holding a real sword."

Henry closes his eyes and the stick turns into a sword. Gasps and mutters run through the boys like wild fire. I look at Devin and he looks a little nervous. "What are you waiting for?" Pan asks. "Go on."

They start to fight. Henry cuts Devin's stick in half. "Go for it. Keep going. Come on. Come on Henry!" Pan yells. Henry keeps going until he makes a cut on Devin's face.

"I'm sorry, it was an accident." Henry apologizes.

"Henry, don't you know the best thing about being a lost boy? You never apologize. Go on." The lost boys cheer as Henry holds the sword up.

"Yeah." He cheers. Pan shows him off to the lost boys.

Henry and I are still in the clearing, now sitting next to each other, but not talking. I'm a bit ticked off at him. He's falling for Pan's tricks and I can't do anything about it. There's that and we don't know what to say to each other.

I watch as Devin talks towards us. "I don't want to fight again okay?" Henry says going up to him.

"I didn't come here to fight; I came to deliver as message. " he says pushing Henry back a little bit. "For both of you. Your family is here."
