ACT ONE : ONE

I stand in line holding my breath praying that me or my friends won't get picked

We all wait in silence before the mayor calls out the female tribute of District 12

"Lucy Gray Baird"

I look at her shocked and she looks back at me scared before I quickly yell out without thinking

"I volunteer! I volunteer as tribute!"

People slowly look back at me surprised before I run up to Lucy and hug her

"Oh your stupid girl, you stupid stupid girl. What did you get yourself into?" she asks quitely in my ear

"I'm sorry Lucy, I had too. I couldn't let my own friend enter in these death games"

I slowly let go of her while people murmur around me

I slowly walk down the path to the stage and pass Billy Taupe

"Lindsay Harlow, I didn't know that they would do that to Lucy. Please belive me I promise" he begs

Instead of stopping I completely walk passed him and I keep walking down the path

As I'm near the stage I spot Mayfair Lipp daughter of Mayor Lipp and the girl Billy Taupe cheated with on Lucy Gray.

I hear her snicker before I slightly smirk and walk up behind her holding the back of her dress and I drop the tiny snake inside of her dress, resulting in her scream for help and trying to get the snake out

I quickly step away to the stage leaving her the fend for herself

"My daughter help her!"

"Get it off! Get it off!" she elan drops to the ground and two peace keepers run to her aid while I snicker and keep walking to the stage

I reach the stage and before I could do anything Mayor Lipp struck me across my face making me fall over and groan in pain he then grabs me before a peace keeper grabs him making him let go of me and escorted him away with another peace keeper

I slowly touch my face feeling the stinging sensation and a peace keeper walks up to me and I shake my head

"Just give me a minute, please. I'm fine" I mutter out and the peace keeper nods and steps back

I slowly take a deep breath before hearing two familiar voices singing

Lucy Gray and Maude Ivory

"You can't take my past, can't take my history"

Slowly more people join them singing alongside them

"You can take my pa, but he's a mystery"

"Nothin' you can take from me. Was ever worth keepin' nothin' you can take" I slowly mutter getting up and looking at the crowd

"Can't take my charm, can't take my humor" I say louder getting up properly

"Can't take my wealth. 'Cause it's just a rumour"

I look behind me and see a microphone and I walk towards it singing in it

"Nothing you can take was ever worth keepin'. You can't take my sass. You can't take my talkin'."

I slowly look around before telling into the mic

"You can kiss my ass!"

I then gently drop the mic to the floor before bowing to the crowd, I then stand up properly walking to the exit following the peace keepers
