Ch. 6 ~ Car crash

It was 2 am in the morning, Jacob and Dylan are still at Jacob's office, they checked all the results from evidence they got from the crime scene. Nialamide was already banned from other countries because of likely serious side effects caused by tyramine containing foods. Jacob is wondering why Michaela still uses this kind of antidepressants pill if it's not available already in Pharmacy. According to the couple, Mr. Luis and Ms. Heide, their plane tickets are already booked 5 months before and it was originally planned by 3 of them. The trip was supposed to be Michaela's surprised birthday gift for Ms. Heide as she is celebrating her birthday this month and about Michaela's Diary, he hasn't started reading it but he knows for sure that they will have enough evidence from her Diary. The hidden camera is one of their big leads to the suspect but the odd thing, is why it was sold to anonymous buyer?

"Kid, do you think Mr. Luis bought the photo frame but he purposely did not give his information for a reason?"

Jacob asks his partner whom later he realizes Dylan dozed off. Dylan's face bury by his one's hands while reading Michaela's Diary. With a slight mouth open, Jacob couldn't resist looking at Dylan's cute face.

"Why didn't he go to the sofa instead, I told him earlier to go home first because I'll be staying late here but this kid is quite stubborn"

Jacob fixes his hair that is covering his eyes and gives himself a minute to look at him closely. Dylan reminds him of someone he's very close with. Jacob thinks that he's very comfortable and he feels good about Dylan because he is somewhat similar to his buddy and senior in the police department, Darius Pinkerton. Their photographic memory and their intellectual creativity of solving a crime is also similar. Jacob really admired and respected a lot Mr. Pinkerton. He learned from him and because of Mr. Darius, his name gotten big and received multiple awards and recognition.

Jacob got up from his chair and carried the sleeping Dylan to the sofa. He placed a small pillow under his head and took his coat from a coat rack and to cover it to him.

"Who are you kid? What are you scared of?"

Jacob brush Dylan's face gently, he is very tempted to touch his innocence face. Only if Dylan would tell him what he's afraid of but he wanted to respect his decision. As long as he's with him, he can assure that he will protect him.

Jacob stand up and go back to his working table. Not knowing Dylan knows he carried him to the sofa. Dylan smiled while sleeping.

Next morning...

Jacob and Dylan went to the Police headquarters after Paco called Jacob early this morning. Jacob only got an hour to rest his eyes and suddenly a new situation come up. Ms. Heide got into a car accident and the initial report is..she bumped herself intentionally and do suicide attempt.

They arrived at the headquarters exactly Paco is preparing to leave the headquarters.

"Buddy where are you going?"

Jacob asked him.

"Give me a ride bud..we need to go to crash site"

Paco looked at Dylan who is observing the headquarters. He saw him looking at every corner of the room. Paco elbowed Jacob and whispered something to him.

"I thought he's out of this investigation already? Why you carry a baby again?"

Jacob smiled. He doesn't know why Paco feels so irritated with Dylan when he admits once that Dylan is so good with crime solving.

"He wanted to go with me, what should I do? Lock him?"

Jacob laugh.

"and since he has nothing to do for now and he's a big help to us so I tag him along here."
