Yesterday I was, today I am, tomorrow I will be
How presumptuous of Me to believe
In a future not guaranteed
I pass over the river of time
On to the sea of possibilities
Memories planted, my nile reeds
Goals and dreams, fish in the sea
Today is the boat I row
From yesterday to tomorrow
Me, is the path I follow
Yet sometimes, the boat is rocked by sorrow
So seeds are sown.
At all times, the boat is rowed by Joy
To see the reeds have grown
Into the sea, my net of reeds is cast
It's well-weaved, nature's dream catcher
Though some fish swim past
I am patient as needs must
I eat fish for lunch each day
So in nature, I trust
As the desert was once the sea
Tomorrow turns to dust
