Chapter 80
The first awards ceremony that M8 attended, LMA.
Hosted by 'Lemon', the largest music streaming service in Korea, it was famous as a K-pop award with the highest music score ratio in all categories.
Rookie Award, Popularity Award, and Main Award. M8, who had been doing well on the music charts since their debut despite being a rookie, was able to stand on the podium several times thanks to this.
'Receiving an award in front of so many people. Before becoming an idol, I only vaguely thought about it.'
When M8 received an award on a music show and award ceremony, the trophy felt heavier than I had imagined.
It was as if the effort and love of many people had been embodied.
'Somehow, I feel a sense of indebtedness.'
The members, excluding me, held the mic for the acceptance speech.
"It's an honor just to be able to stand on such a big stage, but our Soul who helped us with all their might to receive such a big award as the Rookie Award... I'm really grateful. I will continue to work hard to repay you. Thank you!"
Shin Yeon-woo finished his final remarks with a trembling voice. Before going on stage, Choi Sung-jun asked me if I wanted to say something, but I declined.
I shouldn't unnecessarily offend the system by accidentally grabbing the mic and making a slip of the tongue.
The main quest for the Rookie of the Year award was counted as soon as we won.
[Rookie of the Year 1/4]
'... I think it means to collect the Rookie of the Year award at each award ceremony.'
There were a total of four award ceremonies that M8 had participated in until the beginning of the year.
'It is telling me to get them all.'
I swallowed a sigh.
Of course, given the current trend, it wasn't impossible.
'Rookie of the Year award goes to M8, Best Performance award goes to Tighten', and public opinion was leaning in that direction.
Usually, award ceremonies don't go against public opinion unless there's external pressure.
So there didn't seem to be any major issues right away... but something felt off.
The system I know isn't one that would give a main quest to something that would succeed even if you just sat still.
"The cheers were amazing. Seriously~!"
M8's first award ceremony ended in three hours.
Kang Se-hyun came down from the stage with a face full of excitement. Although there were slight differences, the faces of the other members also looked excited.
'It was my first time performing at a venue of this size, so I was overwhelmed by the atmosphere. Should I be thankful that I didn't make a mistake?'
After finishing one of the awards ceremony stages that we had prepared for about two weeks, I felt relieved but also a bit disappointed, a strange feeling.
While passing through the hallway while exchanging brief thoughts with the members, I ran into a familiar face.
"Yoo Hyun-ah~!"
Double Bull Park Joo-hyung took off his hat and waved it around, greeting me warmly.
The Double Bull members who had been following him also gathered here.
