ALASKA : THE AGENT

CHAPTER ONE

I was sitting in a café when I received a message from my father that read:
“NIGHTSHADE (her code name) report to the warehouse at 2200 hours -Agent specter."

My heart raced as I made my way to the secret meeting point on the outskirts of the city. I had been training for this moment for years, and now my first high-stakes mission was finally here.

The Counter-Terrorism Mission
The primary objective of this mission is to protect civilians captured by terrorists in a national building.

Terrorists’ Biographies

John: The leader, notorious for his ruthless killings and expertise in robbery. His short stature often leads him to overcompensate with bravado.

Calwin: A muscular man responsible for countless lives lost, but jealousy often clouds his judgment.

Dr. Sophia: A former scientist turned terrorist mastermind with a chilling intellect.

Jack: A 4'5" man with a red nose and a penchant for fast talking; he loves to boast.

Carey: Calwin's girlfriend, often forgetful and disorganized, who enjoys teasing Jack about his height.

As I entered the building, I relied on my unique ability to sense the environment. To my shock, there was no one on the ground floor. I moved cautiously to the second floor and sensed someone was there.

I tried to open the door, but it was too tight. Using a gust of wind, I forced it open and gasped at the sight before me. People were tied up with ropes, and some were hanged from the windows. From children to the elderly, all were suffering. It was horrifying.

The terrorists were drinking and smoking when they noticed me. Their reactions were comical; they were five against me, yet they looked terrified.

Using my power of brain reading, I could sense their disbelief at my sudden appearance.

Despite the chaos, I focused on the hostages. I had no time to waste. As I approached them to cut their ropes, Dr. Sophia suddenly grabbed my hair from behind.

“Gotcha!” she sneered.

I kicked her in the stomach with precision, causing her to stumble back as I continued my mission.

“Hey! Whoever you are, you’re making a huge mistake!” Calwin shouted. “Guys, Carey! Tie her up!"

“Yes, boss!” Carey saluted in a mock-serious manner while fumbling with some rope.

“OMG! Girl, where did you get that classy black suit? Calwin baby never buys me such things!” she moaned while holding onto my arm tightly.
“Leave my arm or else…” I warned her.

“OMG! Did you hear what she said?” Carey laughed.

“I said leave my hand!” With a powerful gust of wind, I sent her flying into the air like a rag doll.
Everyone in the room was shocked; some even fainted at the sight.

“Who are you? How did she get in here? Didn’t you guys secure this building?” John shouted in panic as he jumped up trying to reach me, his small stature making him look even more ridiculous as he flailed his arms in desperation.

“I’m right here!” I taunted him from above.

Calwin stuttered, “E-e-er… whaaat did I just?”

“See? Your words are failing you,” I teased him.

“W-who are you?” he asked again.

“A ghost!” I replied playfully.

“A ghost?” he echoed incredulously.

Just then, I heard the desperate cries of a little girl suffering from her bindings. Time was running out; I had to save as many lives as possible. Without hesitation, I cut several ropes using my spark power.

Suddenly, one of the terrorists struck me on the head with a steel rod. Everything went black.
When I regained consciousness, I found myself tied to a chair. Dr. Sophia loomed over me with a syringe filled with poison.
I kicked her away and managed to break free from my restraints despite the throbbing pain in my head.

As they charged at me together, Carey grabbed another syringe and attempted to inject me again. In a swift move, I dodged and redirected her hand so that she accidentally injected herself instead!

“What?! No! Omg! What did you do?” Carey exclaimed as she began dancing humorously around the room, her movements erratic as she giggled uncontrollably from the effects of the drug.

“Look at her go!” Jack laughed while trying not to trip over his own feet as he watched Carey dance around like a fool.
Amidst this chaos, John continued jumping up and down in frustration trying to reach me but only succeeded in looking foolish as he waved his arms wildly. “Get down here! You can’t just float above us!”

Calwin seized this moment of distraction and lunged toward me with fierce determination. “This is your end!” he growled as he attempted to press his hands around my throat.
But just then, Carey stumbled into him while still dancing wildly. “Calwin! Look at me! Aren’t I fabulous?” she giggled, completely oblivious to his plan.
Calwin’s face twisted in irritation as he lost his chance to attack me. “Carey! Focus!”

With their attention divided, I harnessed my shadow energy and vanished momentarily before reappearing behind John.
“Where did she go?” Carey exclaimed in confusion amidst her giggles.

“I don’t understand what’s happening!” Calwin shouted angrily as he tried to regain control of the situation while dodging Carey's flailing arms.
“Who is she?” Sophia added anxiously.

“Alaska,” I revealed as I reappeared before them with a smirk.
“Alaska???” they all gasped in unison.
John smirked despite his frustration. “Oh wow, nice name girl… but soon enough, you’ll regret crossing us.”

Jack chimed in sarcastically while still trying not to laugh at Carey's antics. “You’re done already? That was fast!”
“That’s all you’ve got? I'm just warming up!” I retorted confidently.

“You think you can defeat us?” John sneered as he jumped again in an attempt to reach me but only succeeded in landing awkwardly on his backside again.

“If you have courage, come down and face me!” Sophia challenged defiantly while trying to regain some semblance of control over her team.

I landed gracefully on the ground as they rushed toward me. Fists flew in every direction; John charged at me like a cannonball but missed entirely when he tripped over Jack's foot and landed face-first on the ground with an exaggerated “Oof!”
“You think that’s gonna take me down? Bring it on!”

Calwin unleashed a flurry of attacks that I blocked and parried effortlessly while dodging Carey's wild dance moves that nearly knocked Jack off balance again.

“You’re no match for me! I'll take you down!”
With one powerful uppercut aimed at Calwin's chin, he flew backward across the alleyway like a ragdoll and crashed into John who was still trying to recover from his earlier fall.

“No... no way... I can't be beat!” Calwin gasped as he struggled to regain his footing after being knocked back by my blow while John groaned beneath him.
“You should've stayed out of my territory. Now face the consequences!”

With precision and force, I delivered rapid-fire punches until Calwin begged for mercy amidst laughter from Jack who couldn’t help but comment on how ridiculous they looked together on the ground.
“Mercy? You showed none when you took these innocent lives! Now pay the price!”

With one final blow aimed directly at Calwin’s jaw, he crumpled to the ground in defeat alongside John who was still trying to untangle himself from his teammate's limbs.
“That’s what happens when you mess with Alaska!”
