With the lab's alarms blaring and red lights flashing around them, the team bolted toward the main corridor, barely keeping their footing as the ground began to rumble beneath them.

V gripped Rose's hand tightly, his protective instincts flaring as he shielded her from the cascading sparks falling from loose wires overhead.

"Stick together!" Neha shouted, her voice barely audible over the deafening sirens. "If we don't stay in a line, we'll get separated in here!"

JK led the way, his quick reflexes guiding him through the twists and turns of the lab's maze-like corridors.

Each hallway looked identical, with dim, flickering lights and malfunctioning security drones that veered dangerously close before buzzing away.

As they ran, Ava spotted a crack in the ceiling, just large enough to reveal glimpses of the jungle outside.

The sight reminded her that safety lay just beyond the thick concrete walls closing in around them. But suddenly, the floor gave a sickening lurch, tilting sharply as if the entire structure was shifting.

"Something's happening to the building!" Rose cried out. She stumbled, her shoulder colliding against the wall, but V caught her before she could fall.

"It's now or never!" he shouted, his eyes locked on JK. "You know the way, right?"

JK nodded, his expression tense but determined. "There should be an emergency exit up ahead... if we can make it there in time."

They pushed on, the floor trembling beneath them with increasing intensity. Neha stumbled, her journal slipping from her hands, but she quickly snatched it up, unwilling to leave it behind.

The ground shook harder, nearly throwing them off balance as they turned down another corridor. Ava spotted a heavy steel door, slightly ajar at the end of the hall—the emergency exit.

"There!" she shouted, pointing ahead.

With a final burst of energy, they sprinted toward the door, each of them pushing through the exhaustion and fear gripping them. But just as JK reached the exit and yanked the door open, a loud crack echoed through the corridor. The walls groaned, chunks of ceiling began to collapse, and a thick cloud of dust filled the air.

"Go!" Neha yelled, pushing Ava forward as debris began raining down around them.

One by one, they bolted through the door into the open air, gasping for breath as they stumbled out into the overgrown brush just outside the lab's perimeter. The ground continued to rumble beneath them, and they watched in stunned silence as the lab collapsed behind them in a cloud of dust and rubble.

V wrapped an arm around Rose, his gaze dark with concern. "That was way too close."

Neha looked down at her journal, her face etched with both relief and sadness. "We made it out... but I'm not sure what we found was worth the risk."
