Neha leaned back in her chair, relieved yet contemplative. "Okay, we'll do this the smart way. We'll gather more information before diving into the unknown," she said, her fingers tracing the worn edges of the journal on the table. "This island... it's not just a matter of finding it. There are too many dangers, too many unknowns. We need to prepare."

Rose nodded, her usual excitement tempered with newfound resolve. "You're right. Rushing in could be a disaster. If your parents were silenced, we have to assume we're not the only ones interested in this island."

Ava glanced between them, her lips pursed thoughtfully. "So what's the plan? Where do we start?"

Neha opened the journal to one of the cryptic maps her parents had sketched. "My parents left behind scattered clues. They were always cautious, hiding the most vital pieces of information in different places—museums, archives, even old labs they used to work in. If we can find those missing pieces, we'll have a clearer idea of what we're getting into."

Rose peered over her shoulder at the map. "That's a lot of places to search."

"It is," Neha admitted. "But I think I know where to begin. There's an old lab where my parents worked before they disappeared. It's abandoned now, but I remember they used to keep their most important research hidden there."

Ava raised an eyebrow. "An abandoned lab? Sounds promising... but also risky."

Rose smirked. "A little danger makes it interesting, right?"

Neha smiled faintly. "The lab is underground, and it's likely that security systems are still in place. But if we can get in, I'm sure we'll find more clues about the island—and maybe even what got my parents killed."

The three girls exchanged determined glances, and it was clear they were in this together. However, this next step would require precise planning.

Later that evening...

Back at her apartment, Neha spread out her parents' journal, flipping through its pages, and marking down important leads.

Rose and Ava joined her, their holographic displays lighting up the darkened room as they gathered information.

"We'll need to deactivate any security systems at the lab," Ava said, typing rapidly on her screen. "I've been doing some research, and I found the blueprints for the building. It looks like the entrance is sealed tight, but with the right tools, we can get in."

Rose nodded, glancing at the notes Neha's parents had written in the margins of the journal. "These look like codes, maybe access points. We should be able to crack them if we can find the system."

Neha's mind was racing with everything they would need. "We'll also need to move quickly. If anyone else is tracking us, they might have the same idea about the lab."

"Got it," Rose said, her eyes gleaming. "We'll hit the lab tomorrow night."
