Part 19
The atmosphere in their home was vibrant with the scent of fresh flowers and the sounds of laughter echoing from the living room. Naina had planned a special evening for Arjun, wanting to celebrate not just their love but also the incredible news she was about to share.
She had spent the day decorating their home with fairy lights and colorful balloons, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Now, with a flutter of nervous excitement in her stomach, Naina took a deep breath and prepared for the moment she had been anticipating for weeks.
As Arjun walked through the door after a long day at work, his eyes widened in surprise at the sight before him. “Naina! What’s all this?” he exclaimed, stepping into the living room, where a small table was set with candles and a homemade dinner.
“Surprise!” she said, her voice bubbling with joy. “I wanted to do something special for you.”
Arjun’s face lit up with a grin as he stepped closer, his gaze scanning the decorations. “This is amazing! You really outdid yourself. But what’s the occasion?”
Naina felt her heart race as she reached for the small box she had placed on the table, containing a tiny pair of baby shoes wrapped in delicate tissue paper. “Well, I have something important to tell you.”
“Okay, you have my full attention,” Arjun said, his smile fading into a look of curiosity.
Naina felt a rush of emotion as she held the box in her hands. “So, you know how we’ve talked about starting a family someday?” she began, her voice slightly trembling with anticipation.
“Yeah, of course. I thought we’d start planning soon,” Arjun replied, his brow furrowing slightly.
“Well,” Naina said, opening the box and revealing the tiny shoes, “it looks like our plans might be happening sooner than we thought.”
Arjun’s eyes widened in shock as he took a step closer, leaning down to look at the shoes. “Wait… are you saying…?”
“I’m pregnant, Arjun,” she announced, her heart racing as she watched the realization wash over his face.
For a moment, silence enveloped the room. Then, it was as if a light bulb had gone off in Arjun’s mind. “Pregnant?” he echoed, his voice filled with awe and disbelief. “You’re really… pregnant?”
Naina nodded, tears of joy brimming in her eyes. “I found out a few weeks ago. I wanted to wait until I was sure before telling you.”
The shock on Arjun’s face quickly melted into pure happiness. “Oh my God, Naina! This is incredible!” He pulled her into a tight embrace, lifting her off the ground as he spun her around. “I can’t believe it! We’re going to be parents!”
Naina laughed, her heart soaring at his reaction. “Yes! We’re going to have a baby!”
As Arjun set her down, he held her face in his hands, his eyes shining with excitement. “This is the best news ever! I’m so happy, Naina. You have no idea!”
“I was so nervous to tell you,” she admitted, her heart still racing. “I didn’t know how you’d react.”
“Are you kidding? This is everything I’ve ever wanted,” Arjun said, a wide smile spreading across his face. “We’re going to be a family! I’m going to be a dad!”
Naina felt a rush of love and gratitude wash over her. “You’re going to be the best dad, Arjun. I can already see it.”
He leaned in, capturing her lips in a sweet kiss, full of promise and excitement. “We have so much to plan! Baby names, nurseries, everything!”
Naina laughed, feeling a warmth spread through her heart. “One step at a time! For now, let’s just enjoy this moment.”
As they settled down at the table for dinner, Arjun couldn’t stop smiling, reaching for Naina’s hand and squeezing it tightly. “I still can’t believe it. You’re carrying our baby! This is amazing, Naina.”
They shared stories about what they imagined their future would be like, painting dreams of their family together. Every laugh, every joyful moment felt magnified by the news they had just shared.
Naina knew that their journey as parents would have its challenges, but with Arjun by her side, she felt invincible. They were ready to embrace this new chapter together, filled with love, laughter, and endless possibilities.
“Here’s to us, and our little miracle,” Arjun said, raising his glass in a toast.
“To us,” Naina echoed, her heart full as she clinked her glass against his.
The rest of the evening unfolded with excitement and dreams for the future, a beautiful reminder of the love that brought them together—and now, the love that was growing within them.
