The first light of dawn cast a soft glow across your dorm room as you blinked awake, excitement already tugging you out of bed. Today was finally the day you would start at U.A. High, and every bit of nervous energy was matched with anticipation. Taking a moment to stretch, you began packing your bag with a few essentials—some notebooks, a pen, and a small water bottle. Moving over to the closet, you pulled open the doors to find the school uniform neatly hanging inside. It was a little jarring to see so few clothes, just the basics neatly folded on one side. You made a mental note to ask Aizawa if you could eventually add to the collection.
Dressed and ready, you pulled open the curtains and cracked the window to let in the warm morning air, breathing in deeply as it filled the room. After pacing around for a few moments, you tried to steady yourself for whatever the day would bring, but just then, a gentle knock sounded at the door.
Aizawa's voice came through. "Ready for your first day?"
Taking one last deep breath, you grabbed your bag, swung the door open, and nodded at him with a smile. "As ready as I'll ever be."
He led the way, and soon you both made your way down the quiet halls and across the campus grounds. Aizawa kept a steady pace beside you, guiding you toward the cafeteria, where the warm scent of fresh food filled the air. He picked a spot by the window where the early morning sun filtered in, casting soft shadows across the table as you both grabbed something light for breakfast. Just as you settled into your seat, a familiar tall figure approached, casting a larger shadow over the two of you.
"All Might!" you greeted, surprised but pleased to see him in his hero form.
"It's a pleasure to see you again," he said warmly, his ever-present smile reassuring. "You look well—starting to adjust a bit?"
"Yes," you replied, glancing between him and Aizawa. "Though I can't shake the feeling of how far behind I am. I missed so much time, and... it's going to take a lot of work to catch up. But I'm trying to take things day by day, to not let the past rob me of experiencing things now."
All Might's expression softened. "That's a powerful perspective. Every day you're here, every step you take toward your goal, you're building something meaningful."
You looked down, your voice lowering. "Two years were taken from me, and I'm not sure I'll ever fully get them back. But I can make sure the time I have now is worth it. I want to build something fulfilling and real, even if... even if it's different from what I imagined."
Unbeknownst to you, three students had just rounded the corner. Izuku, Uraraka, and Bakugo slowed their steps, stopping short at the sound of your voice.
"She sounds really nice," Uraraka whispered, a small, warm smile on her face.
Izuku nodded thoughtfully. "Yeah... It must have been so hard, going through all that."
Bakugo listened silently, his expression unreadable, though something shifted in his eyes. He clenched his fists slightly, a flicker of empathy—though he'd never say it out loud—sparking as he imagined losing two years of his own progress toward becoming number one. Without a word, he followed Izuku and Uraraka as they slipped down a side hallway, leaving you, Aizawa, and All Might to finish your conversation.
