CHAPTER 30: HOME
"We can finally live in our new house!" Amelia exclaimed, jumping with excitement. Seeing her reaction made the three beastmen-Curtis, Winston, and Muir-feel proud of all their hard work.
"Excited? My female must be unsatisfied living in my cave," Curtis said, feigning hurt. Amelia shot him a glare.
"Of course I'm not! I'm just happy that we finally have a home-the house you all built with effort. But if you don't want to live there, feel free to stay here," she teased, a grin spreading across her face. Curtis shivered and fell silent.
Winston and Muir could only shake their heads helplessly at Curtis, the ever-teasing snake. He was always a nuisance, yet Amelia was the one he truly feared. This sly serpent only behaved that way when our female was nearby.
Once they finished packing up their belongings in the cave, they prepared to move to their new house. Winston and Muir would be living with them since they were already her suitors. Besides, Curtis had agreed to it for her safety, easing his worries while hunting. However, they would each need to have separate rooms, as they weren't her mates yet.
As they walked to their new house, Amelia noticed a large wall. She was amazed at how these three had built it and really liked it. At the center of the wall was a gate. This gate had come from her space, and she told Curtis to give it to Winston. Winston was amazed by the gate's sturdiness, which was tougher than stone. Amelia showed them how to use it, which only heightened their awe, including Muir's.
Entering the house, Amelia took in the spacious yard and felt satisfied. She was satisfied and started thinking about how to create her garden. As she stepped into the two-story house, she was greeted by the expansive living area. A stone fireplace dominated the stone wall. Behind the living room, there were two rooms: the kitchen and the storage room. It also has a bathroom near the kitchen. A dining area in front of the kitchen had a large wooden table with enough chairs for everyone. The storage room was equipped with wooden counters.
After exploring the first floor, she climbed the staircase along the right wall to the upper floor, where a narrow hallway led to five rooms. The largest room was for Amelia and Curtis's bedroom, while the next two were for her suitors, Winston and Muir. The fourth room served as a bathroom, offering added convenience for quick access. The remaining room would stay empty for now, in case she decided to have cubs or hatchlings. Each room had a window, allowing fresh air to flow in.
Feeling satisfied, Amelia couldn't help but hug them all. "Thank you! The house is so beautiful," she said, amazed.
"Silly, why would we call ourselves your mates and males if we can't satisfy you?" Curtis replied, kissing her nose.
"You're welcome, Amelia. If you think of anything else to add to the house, just let us know," Winston said, his tone chatty since she had accepted him as her suitor. Muir nodded in agreement.
Curtis rolled his eyes. "We just finished building the house, and this tiger and bird want to do more already."
Amelia chuckled. "Alright, I'll let you know if I forget anything. By the way, I still haven't seen the backyard."
"The backyard has a well, just as you instructed, so we don't need to go to the river for water. We also made sure there's a backdoor in the kitchen for a shortcut," Winston informed her, making her beam with happiness.
"That's great! Our house will be so comfortable to live in. Thank you so much again!" she exclaimed, blowing kisses into the air, which made them chuckle at her adorableness.
They all began arranging the things they had brought. It took at least ten trips to transport everything from the cave to their new house. Amelia felt guilty about their hard work and tried to lighten the load by secretly placing some items in her space. She even helped carry things despite their protests.
