The funeral master continued to speak while I continued to look at the pretty y/h/c haired girl. She didn't look straight ahead, her head was down, she looked sad.I had a hard time seeing her sad like that even though I didn't know her.

Now it was time for the relatives to come forward one by one towards the coffin to say their goodbyes.
First it was the turn of a rather elderly lady, she had a handkerchief in her hand and often wiped away the tears that escaped from her eyes. I think it was the mother. She made her goodbye speech.

And one by one people said their goodbyes. Then it was the turn of the girl I had been watching all along. She walked towards the coffin in her beautiful black dress and with her hair swaying in the breeze of the wind.

"Hi Josh, I hope that you can hear me..." She began, looking down at the coffin. Omg ! She has a beautiful voice.
"I don't understand why life decided to send you to heaven so early. I wish we could continue to know each other even more than we already knew each other." She continued, tears starting to form in her eyes.
"Why did you need to leave now when I still needed you?" Now tears were streaming down her cheeks.
"I will miss you very much."

You could hear the sobs in her voice.
"I can't..." She said looking at a lady in the crowd. "I can't...mom" She repeated, as the woman who appeared to be her mother walked over to her and hugged her.
"It's too much for me mom" she said between sobs.

The ceremony ended and most people began to go home.

My parents were talking with the parents of the girl. And my sister were with a boy who were about her age.
I was sitting at a table. I saw the y/h/c haired girl. I wanted to talk to her but I didn't wanted to bother her. She was probably very sad about the funeral. But I really wondered how she was related to the deceased.

I walked up to her and she looked up at me and I looked right into her eyes. She had gorgeous y/e/c eyes.

"Can I help you ?" She asked.

"Uhhh...I was just wondering if you were okay, but you know what that's a stupid question" I said a little embarrassed.

"yeah" She gave me a slight smile, but her expression faded almost immediately.

"Your smile is lovely" I said as I blushed and looked down.

"Thank you" I heard her said with a wider smile.

"If it's not too hard for you, I'd like to know who you were to the man in the coffin." I said while sitting next to her.

"He was my-" she began but was stopped by someone coming to her.

"Darling, we're going back home. The Sangster family is coming with us. They live far away so we decided they'd stay for a few days." Her mom said.
"Oh, I see you've made the acquaintance of young Thomas Sangster." She said noticing me.

"Nice to meet you Thomas, you're coming to our home for a few day, come on we're leaving!" She said she take the girl's hand and leading us to the others.
