Alice here. Currently I'm in the middle of coming up with a route to go by once we leave the mansion. We've decided to head for the British owned steel tower, solely because itś the only one we have a clue as to whatś inside. The information gained from the British representative we weren't able to determine exactly what it is but we could find a name. ¨Scrap Army Knife¨. It doesn't mean much but if one of the representatives was able to get into one of the steel towers and come back out alive that's good enough for me. We need to be ready for anything though, physically and mentally. I've already told Muvere about Frankenstien without much of a reaction as a result but if what he said is true then the doctor ¨made¨ Muvere. I don't know how exactly they would react to seeing each other. I need to keep them as far apart as possible. That's easier said than done; however, we still don't know what talent he was using in order to reach us. Teleportation? Wouldn't explain his little suicide stunt and def wouldn't explain the fact that he hasn't shown up since then. Mind control? Maybe but why not just take Muvere then? Maybe itś just pointless to think about it right now. If you can't figure out your opponent's ability then work to understand your own. Currently I can use five types of poison in my Agoura Hills. ¨Purple Rain¨ (by Prince) a cloud like fog I can expel from my breath, ¨Buttercup¨ (by Jack Stauber) a corrosive acid I can secrete like sweat, ¨Pretty in Pink¨ (by Scene Queen) a venom I can produce from under my nails and teeth, ¨O'Green World¨ (Gorillaz) a simple but effective paralysis toxin I can produce from my sweat, tears and even piss, and finally ¨Brown Eyed Girl¨ (by Van Halen) a steroid like toxin that seems to be produced in my bone marrow allowing for a quick boost when needed. Those are the only ones I can control at this time but I'm a bit curious as to what would happen if I combined all of them but thatś an endeavor for another day for now we need to secure a boat.
¨Hey Alice! The charter guy wants to know how we'll be paying!¨ Muvere was on the phone like I told him too. We had found a flier for a rinky dink charter boat in some old mail in one of the drawers.
¨Oh yeah hold on um how does 5,000 in large bills for a one way trip to the east coast sound?¨ Muvere had held the phone close to my mouth so the man on the other end could hear me speak. It was an old rotary phone so I wasn't even sure if it would work but even so we could've just showed up with a boatload of cash to buy the boat itself (you didn't think we only took food from the hotel did you?). The phone went silent for a bit until a man's raspy voice came on the speaker.
"Ahem, yes that'll do." You could almost hear the greed in his voice.
"Oh and before I forget, how many people does your boat hold?" The man replies 8. "Ok then 2,500 per person so how about this tell him I'll take all the seats on the boat for 20,000 for a one way trip no questions asked, deal?" I shouted over my shoulder grabbing my favorite red thong (they were granny panties but who cares, they're comfy). The phone made a fumbling noise on the receiving end.
"Yes yes that's fine, definitely more than fine. Ya um I'll be at the harbor first thing tomorrow or whenever you're ready". He hung up. Perfect.
"Alright then, we've got transportation, a little food, and the proper weaponry. So glad I can pack light this time seeing how gas weapons aren't needed as much with my talent. And I-" My words trailed off as I glanced at Muvere's hand. It seemed to be just shying away from touching mine. A polite thing to do in most situations allowing for the other person to only slightly notice and possibly even try to further the initiation themselves. They must've still been nervous to touch me even though I had accepted their proposal but we hadn't really talked further on it. The only knowledge Muvere had of marriage was through books and the memories of some rather questionable people. What did Muvere think marriage or even love meant? And did I want that with them? I suppose the physical attraction was there even if they weren't technically human but it should be fine since they are humanoid. And I suppose they are rather sweet and rather caring. And possibly a little charming in a sort of oblivious but still somewhat intelligent charm that reminded you of a lost pup. But could I really take that into consideration? But why wouldn't I? I mean I could just say I feel this way but it can't be that easy. Nothing's ever that easy and I mean I haven't really been around a lot of people so am I just tricking myself into it. But maybe. Maybe that didn't matter all that much.
I grabbed their hand holding it in an embrace that I think for most people would have been much too tight but they didn't seem to mind. They looked up blushing profusely trying to mutter out a couple inaudible words. I always found it funny when they blushed seeing as how it never quite fit the look of their gray skin. It was a bit endearing in a way.
"Muvere I need you to breathe for me." I got closer, almost pressing the bottom of my face. "For four counts breathe in." They were flustered at first but obliged. I ran my other hand down their arm from elbow to fingertip. "Hold for five." They did and I was now holding both hands. "Now let out for six." They did and I blew out with them. "Their. Now your heart beat is nice and loud for me to hear." I placed my ear to their chest feeling the drowning hum of Muvere's heart. "Something about this, knowing the feel, the pace, the dedication in this heartbeat. Breathing exercises can help to slow it allowing for better decision making." I looked up just inches away from their face. "Make your next decision wisely."
