-PHILS POV-
Today is the day. I'm going to ask Dan to marry me. I know, I know, it's extremely straightforward and to the point but I love Dan. Dan loves me.
Ever since we met, not only on the Internet, but in that train station, we knew there was a special connection. There was something more, definitely more than your normal friendship. Sparks were everywhere. His smile can melt my heart and whenever he smiles, whether it's at me or not, I can't help but to smile back times two.
My plan was to tell Dan a story, our story. After I finish I'm going to tell him I just want to spend the rest of my life with him, doing everything together.
I wiped my sweaty hands on my black skinny jeans and adjusted my shirt. Why was I nervous? The worst thing that could happen would be to lose my boyfriend, start over, and go through the agony I went through before Dan and I met.
I heard the door downstairs open and close. Dan was home. It was time. The box with the ring inside it lay loose in my hand, hidden between my legs so Dan couldn't see it.
Dan walked into the lounge and smiled.
"Hey Phil."
"Hey Dan, I wanted to talk to you for a bit." I saw him tense up. Did he know what was coming? He opened his mouth to form words that I didn't expect...at all.
"Oh great. I knew it. You're too good for me."
Crap. He's crying.
"No no no no NO not at all. Just sit down and listen to my story." A tear ran down Dan's face and he wiped it off quickly. He sat next to Phil on the couch.
"I just don't want to lose you."
Hopefully if all goes well, it'll be the exact opposite.
