For the first time in 10 years, I will not be creating a project on the NaNoWriMo website because I no longer support the goals and mission of the organization. Having said that, I have always enjoyed the idea of NaNoWriMo and connect with other writers during November. Except for once, I've never made it quite to the 50k words, but I found that NaNo helped me to establish good writing habits by writing every single day and work toward some sort of goal. So NaNoWriMo might be dead, but that doesn't mean the idea cannot be turned into something new!
Welcome to the first annual Wattpad November Writing Challenge, in short WaNoWriCha.
How does it work?
In the next chapter, introduce us to the story you plan to write/expand/edit/rewrite. Everything goes, from creating a brand new story on November 1st to dusting off an old project you started ages ago. Then create your goal. It can be as little as 5k words or as much as 100k, that's up to you. Just want to edit? That's fine. Looking for an expansion? Go ahead. The idea is to get you into a steady writing habit and be accountable for the goals you set (and if life happens, you can always change your goal).
*** All genres welcome, but please let me know if your story is marked mature to give potential readers the heads up.

Once you let me know about your project and goals, I will add you to the chapter with all the writers who will participate this year (I will also include everyone in a special reading list and encourage you to do the same on your own profile). Let's support each other as much as we can.

Come November 1st, we will start tracking goals. You can drop your daily accomplishments in the Milestone Tracking chapter. I will then update your goals under your project. At the end of the month, everyone who participated will get a special shout-out.
