Peter Pettigrew's letter to Sirius.

'Padfoot.

I wasn't invited to your engagement party because I am a half-blood. My condolences on being shackled to Snivellus forever. If you ever want to hide you could come stay with me or the woman you love. At least when we all get back to Hogwarts, we could play a perfect prank on him. Moony will be showing up on our second day back, meaning that whole week he will be on edge. No one will know, you will be safe from him and free to marry the one you truly want.

~Wormtail.'

Sirius was ready to throw up, and then find the rat and burn him alive. Severus wasn't there, he had gone out with Narcissa and Regulas to get some books for school. Sirius was dealing with the backlash from the article. "You okay son? You look like you want to burn that letter." Orion sat next to him. Sirius stood abruptly and began to pace, Severus usually calmed him, but Padfoot was more on edge on the wizard. "Did you and mother invite the Pettegrews to the engagement party?" Orion looked at him curiously. "We sent an invite to all your friends. You saw the guest list. You know your mother would rather die than be seen as a bad hostess." The father son duo chuckled in dry humor. "Peter sent me a letter and said he wasn't invited because he is a half-blood, but so is Remus and he was invited." Orion nodded, thinking about it. "Could he be trying to put a wedge between your family and you?" Sirius didn't want to think about it, though it was possible as Peter talked about how House Black was prejudice against half-bloods, and muggle-borns.

Tea was brought to them by Walburga and Bellatrix. "We thought you might want a break from all this business." Walburga handed a cup to Orion and Bellatrix gave a cup to Sirius. "Don't worry it's not poisoned; I wouldn't do that to you just yet." She joked and Sirius smiled at her. "Both of you, there will be no poisoning before or after either of your weddings." Walburga chided even though there was a small smile on her face. "Mother, are you okay?" Sirius asked as his mother wasn't drinking her normal tea, instead she had water. "I am perfectly fine Sirius. Now, you and your father seemed to be deep in discussion, what was that about?" Orion put a hand on his wife's leg, rubbing it gently. Sirius seemed to see more of their interactions, maybe they were always like that. "Peter Pettegrew, he seems to think he wasn't invited to the engagement party because he is a half-blood." Walburga looked ill. "I have never liked that boy, but he is your friend, and I did invite him. Kreacher!"

She called and the ancient house elf popped into the room. "Yes, Mistress." His voice was gravely, and he had his head down. "You did deliver the invitation to the Pettegrew house did you not?" The house elf nodded enthusiastically. "Kreacher always does as Mistress Black tells him. Kreacher would never goes against her wishes." Walburga waved him away and looked back at her son and husband as though the matter was finished. "So, Peter could be lying to me or his mom got rid of the invitation." Sirius had never liked Mrs. Pettegrew; she was a rude woman who played the happy wife and the overly nice mother. "She is a bitch. Sorry Aunt Walburga, Uncle Orion, but it is true." Bellatrix said calmly, brushing a strand of her crazy curls from her face. "She does not like us, not our fault that her husband gambles away all of their money. Forcing them to live in a muggle neighborhood, where she can barely use her magic." Walburga had gone to school with the woman and never got along with her.

They were talking about other things, like Bellatrix's upcoming wedding, and the school shopping trip when Narcissa, Regulas, and Severus returned, dragging James and Remus with them. "We brought people to talk with you." Narcissa was smiling as she sat next to her sister. "Hey, we got really weird letters, wondering if Peter sent one to you." James and Remus handed over two letters, almost the same as his. "Yeah, here." He handed them his letter and they read it getting more and more angry. Remus stood up his light green eyes turning more amber as Moony tried to make an appearance. "That little bitch!" He growled and his voice was deeper, more animalistic. Severus was trying to look over their shoulders to read the letter. "You think that red head had something to do with this?" His height was adorable, but Sirius was not going to let him read something that might cause him distress. "Molly might be trying to sow discord with us and is using Peter to drive a wedge between the family and us."
