I wake up to Megan and Jojo hovering over me.
When my eyes focus, I see Megan holding the baby's tiny hand around the string of a balloon that reads; Happy Birthday.
I forgot about my own birthday.
"Happy Birthday, Mommy!" Megan says in a small voice, pretending to be our baby.
"Thank you, Jovanna." I chuckle taking her from Megan.
"Happy Birthday from me, too." Megan says in her regular voice as she kisses me.
"Thank you." I smile against her lips.
"Kelly and Michelle are downstairs." She says.
"Can you tell them I'll be down after I feed Jojo and shower?"
"I already did." She laughs.
Of course she did. She knows what I'm going to do before I do half of the time.
I feed the baby, take a quick shower, and apply a little bit of makeup because I know my friends are about to drag me out of the house.
I haven't gone anywhere but doctors appointments in the past month so I'm not even going to fight them.
I pull my hair into a ponytail, throw on a pair of jeans and a cute shirt, then I head down the stairs.
My friends greet me excitedly.
"How's 24 treating you so far?" Michelle asks rocking Jojo gently.
"I've only been up for 30 minutes but it's been cool." I chuckle.
"Well it's finna get better because we're going out." Kelly says. "And before you say no-"
"I'm not saying no." I respond.
"Oh. Period." Kelly smiles.
