The door creaked open, unveiling a massive chamber bathed in an eerie, ghostly glow. Shadows danced along the walls, twisting and shifting as if alive. At the far end of the room, a monstrous figure loomed-massive and imposing, clad in a spectral armor that radiated an ominous, dark aura. Its hollow eyes glowed with a malevolent light, fixed on the trio with an intensity that made even Claud's confidence waver.
Name: Dark Revenant
Type: Dungeon Boss
Level: 10
Health Points (HP): 2,000
The Dark Revenant lifted a massive, jagged sword, and with a slow, deliberate movement, pointed it toward Claud, Snow, and Vid, as though marking them for execution. The atmosphere thickened, each breath becoming harder to draw as the overwhelming power of the boss weighed down upon them.
"This... might be a bit more than I expected," Claud admitted, his voice low but steady. "But we can do this if we stick to the plan."
Snow's hand tightened around her dagger, a spark of excitement and terror flashing in her eyes. "Just tell me when to strike."
Vid shifted into a defensive stance, his bulky frame poised to intercept any incoming attacks. "Let's make this quick. I can only hold for so long."
Claud assessed the room, scanning for any potential weak points. His mind raced, recalling the few hints he'd gathered about the boss's patterns from his previous life. "Snow, focus on avoiding its attacks-strike from the shadows whenever you see an opening. Vid, draw its attention, but don't stay in one spot too long. This thing will adapt if you're predictable."
As Claud activated Skeletal Summon, another skeletal warrior materialized, its hollow eyes gleaming as it awaited his command. "Support Vid. Do whatever it takes to keep the boss focused on you."
The Dark Revenant began to move, its armored feet pounding against the stone floor with each step, the ground trembling slightly beneath its weight. Claud raised his staff, invoking Dark Barrier to shield the group from the initial assault.
With a guttural roar, the Dark Revenant charged forward, swinging its sword in a wide arc. Vid raised his shield just in time, absorbing the brunt of the attack but getting pushed back by the force. The shield vibrated with the impact, but he held firm.
"Snow, now!" Claud called out, his voice cutting through the echo of the blow.
Snow vanished into the shadows, reappearing behind the boss in a flash. With swift, precise strikes, she drove her daggers into the joints of its armor, aiming for any weak spots she could find. Each strike chipped away at its HP, but the creature barely flinched, its gaze fixed on Vid.
The Dark Revenant swung again, this time a downward strike meant to crush. Vid sidestepped, his heavy armor scraping the ground as he narrowly avoided the blow. "Claud, I can't hold out forever!"
Claud nodded, gathering his energy. "Let's turn up the heat." Raising his hand, he invoked Shadow Walker, moving through the darkness to circle around the boss. From behind, he launched a burst of dark energy directly at the Revenant's back, staggering it for a moment.
The Dark Revenant's wave of dark energy dissipated, leaving the trio momentarily reeling. Claud pushed himself back up, his mind racing to formulate a plan. He knew this wasn't just a battle of brute force-if they wanted to defeat the Revenant, they would have to outsmart it.
"We're going to have to wear it down with strategy," Claud called out, meeting Vid and Snow's gaze. "I've got an idea, but we'll need perfect timing."
The Revenant, undeterred, started to approach again, each step echoing in the massive chamber. Claud clenched his staff, his eyes narrowing as he glanced at Snow. "Snow, I need you to find a way to blind it temporarily, even just for a few seconds. That should buy us the time we need."
