Suicide is not stupid; making someone feel like suicide is the only option is the one that is stupid.

In our society, news about suicide is common. Just a few days ago, a trending topic in our country is about a 15 year old girl who committed suicide. I don't know her personally but my heart goes out to her since I know how painful it is to lose someone because of suicide. Even though suicide is very frequent topic, others can't help but ask, why do people commit or attempts suicide anyway?

Based on the things that I've researched, the main reason is depression. Depression is a serious medical condition that makes a person feel unimportant and this issue must not be taken lightly. Depression is caused by different factors. As for one, depression is hereditary. A person may not exhibit any signs of depression yet they can acquire this if he or she has a family background of depression. Which can be very alarming because a person might appear happy yet the next thing we know, they've already committed suicide.

Another reason why a person commits suicide is because of bullying. We can all admit that most people in our society can be very judgmental. Even adults experience this, not only teenagers. Some adults get bullied on their workplace and by other adults as well. Bullying should never be tolerated, verbal or physical. It's such a pity that some people pick on other people just to appear strong and superior. Bullying may cause different effects on a person, either they turned out to be a bully as well just to avenge themselves or they die because of it. This may lead to depression as well.

These two are the main causes and the other reasons why others attempt suicide leads up to depression so I didn't put it because it would appear redundant. In our society today, it wouldn't kill you to be nice to someone. A little act of kindness may change someone's life without you knowing. A problem such as this is faced by many, and most of them are seeking for help, yet they can't find it.

A simple act or gesture of compassion would suffice. Simply being there for the person who attempts suicide is very helpful as well. People who are experiencing this dilemma need to know that they are not alone and others wouldn't hesitate to lend them a helping hand.

If you know someone who is currently suffering from these circumstances, let them know that they are more worthy than they thought. Let them know that they matter. Make them feel secure about themselves before it's too late. And if you're the one who is experiencing this, contact us and I'll do my best to help you!

And a piece of advice, you are beautiful. Don't let the world change your smile but let your smile change the world.
