A Petty Defeat

Chapter 3

I didn't slow until I was positive that Ladybug hadn't followed me, I stopped in a park then I collapsed on a bench breathing hard. "Well, Nooroo today is not a normal day."

"No," he agreed sitting on my leg as I tried to think about what had happened in the bakery.

I know two things about what had just happened one I knew Ladybugs secret identity and Shadowmoth's and two I had an angry super villain after me. Right, the best course of action would be to try to get Shadowmoth's miraculous that he does have and then return the Peacocks miraculous to Ladybug. What I was going to do about the Ladybug problem I don't know but one thing I knew for certain, the Purple Lady needed to make an appearance. The name was just right; I had mixed the other names I had chosen.

I stood, "Nooroo get back in the purse we're going for a short trip," I walked to ward a hidden place and transformed, I landed on the roof top and waited in the sight of the civilians and hopefully the sight of Shadowmoth. The roof was covered in leaves so I scraped them into a pile and scanned the city for anything peculiar like a Red and black spotted hero after me or a sentimonster, or maybe just Shadowmoth if he was angry enough to not think about it. I open my cane and go to my contacts list, there were four available, wait a second four? But Ladybug, Cat Noir and Shadowmoth would make three who's the fourth? Only Ladybug was online and I really didn't want to talk to her, but I clicked on her anyway and studied a map of the city, Ladybug was about three blocks away far enough that she wouldn't see me. A news van parked near the end of the block were they think I can't see them and start recording most likely live while a reporter squats next to the camera in sight of the screen and talks about something I can't hear what she's saying. I pull up the news on my cane listen for a few minutes and shake my head in annoyance.

"Hey," I call down at the reporter. "Why doe's everyone think I'm evil." I jumped down and stood under the shade of the building the reporter opened her mouth to speak but was cut off when someone jumped off the roof, I flip them over my shoulder, they grunt, but I hold them foot on their chest. I had managed to grab Ladybugs yo-yo so that she would be without a weapon.

"I'm here to take back your miraculous." Ladybug says from the ground.

"Sorry I can't let you take it, I need this miraculous." I let Ladybug go but don't help her up I turn and leave using her yo-yo and my already enhanced agility to get away. I had the pleasure of hearing Ladybug gasp in surprise, before I left the red and black spotted hero in the dust.

I came to a stop and pulled my cane off my back and look for Shadowmoth this time I'm not going to wait for him to find me. I located him only about a couple blocks away and I took off using Ladybugs Yo-yo once again and I decided I liked the yo-yo better as a source of travel than just jumping it was easier for one and a better weapon honestly who uses a cane as a weapon? I spot Shadowmoth it looks like he's without a sentimonster; I land behind him right after the yo-yo vanishes, great. "Hello, feathers looking for me?"

Shadowmoth spun around and glared. "You," he said it like an insult.

"Are you going to do the right thing or am I going to have to pickpocket the peacock pin too?" I asked calmly leaning on my cane.

Shadowmoth charged me and I was ready, I parried his first blow, and struck at him with the cane. He used his fan as a shield and blocked it. I struck at him and he once again blocked it with his fan.

"I've used the Butterfly miraculous longer than you have I know its abilities its weaknesses, give it back to me before you get hurt."

"And have you use it for evil, fat chance, Agreste." Shadowmoth froze in surprise, and I had the gratification of watching fear appear on his face before I attacked him hoping to catch him off guard. I managed to get two hits in before he started to block my moves again but he was still dazed. We hit each other at the same time we both stumbled back. We stand breathing heavily, that's when I notice that Ladybug is watching from another roof top. "Well feathers it looks like we have company."

Shadowmoth glanced at the hero, and then plucked a feather out of his fan. He held it in his palm and created an amuck. He placed it in his fan and a sentimonster formed in front of him. It was Queen Wasp; luckily it looked as though it only had the power of the miraculous and not a whole swarm of wasps like last time.

"Queen Wasp, fight her while I deal with Ladybug." Queen Wasp attacked, and I fought back. The senti-Queen Wasp called her power and tried to sting me but I caught her wrist and turned it inward I stung the sentimonster and turned to watch Shadowmoth fighting Ladybug, he was cornered and disarmed. Ladybug smashed his fan and the Amuck came fluttering out, she caught it in her yo-yo and released the feather. While Ladybug purified the amuck Shadowmoth bolted and I didn't try to stop him, he was right he knew the butterfly miraculous' ability's than I did, and I couldn't fight him at least not yet anyway I'll need an akuma and some way to change my time limit.

"See you later," I said and left in the same direction as Shadowmoth leaving Ladybug behind in surprise. I guess she assumed that I was going to explain things and give her the butterfly miraculous, I'll explain everything to the heroes after I take the peacock and anything else that Gabriel shouldn't have. But first I need to wait till dark, and then the Agreste manor will get an unexpected guest.
