Todoroki’s POV

.
.
It was lunch time when I noticed Y/N standing near the entrance of the cafeteria with tray in her hands, scanning the room. Her cat-like ears twitched slightly, making her look even more adorable than usual as she searched for a place to sit. I pretended not to notice at first, keeping my eyes on my lunch, but my heart was pounding, hoping—no, wishing—that she’d choose to sit with me.

To my surprise, she started walking over, her tail swishing softly behind her. She stopped right in front of me, and I looked up, doing my best to keep my expression neutral.

“Can I sit with you, Todoroki?” she asked, her voice soft and gentle.

I tried to stay composed, but inwardly, I felt a rush of excitement. “Yes, of course, Y/N,” I replied, nodding quickly.

She sat down across from me, placing her lunch tray on the table. For a moment, there was a comfortable silence as we both started eating.

After a few bites, she looked at me, her ears tilting slightly.

“By the way, I just realized… I’ve been calling you by your first name without noticing. I’m sorry, Todoroki.”

She looked genuinely apologetic, and I couldn’t help but feel a bit pleased. The thought of her unconsciously using my name felt special. I looked at her, trying to convey with my eyes that it was okay.

“No, you don’t have to apologize. You can call me by my name,” I replied. “I call you by yours all the time, so it’s only fair.”

“Oh… really?” she said, her eyes widening slightly, a small smile playing on her lips. “Okay, then, if you’re sure… Shoto.”

Hearing her say my first name so casually nearly made my heart stop. I managed to keep my face impassive, but inside, I was a mess. Her saying my name was… addicting.

As Y/N continued to eat, I found myself completely absorbed in her presence. The way her cat-like features caught the light made my breath hitch. I couldn’t help but study her, my heart racing as I imagined what it would be like to keep her by my side forever.

“Shoto,” she said again, breaking me from my thoughts, and I felt a rush of heat flood my cheeks at the sound of my name on her lips. It was almost too much to handle. She was so sweet, so innocent, and yet here I was, my thoughts spiraling into darker territories.

'What would it take to make her mine completely? To ensure no one else could ever sit across from her like this again?'

'I want to wrap my arms around her and shield her from the world outside—especially from those who might dare approach her'.

My grip on my fork tightened involuntarily as the thought crossed my mind.

'Y/n...my love, If anyone tried to take you away from me, they wouldn’t stand a chance'

“Are you okay?” Y/N asked, her ears tilting in concern as she noticed my sudden shift in demeanor.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” I replied, forcing a smile that didn’t quite reach my eyes. “Just… thinking.”

I felt a surge of possessiveness wash over me as I watched her take another bite of her food, completely unaware of how deeply I felt about her. She was so trusting, so carefree, and I wanted to keep that innocence safe.
