From the Guadalupe Mountains,
to the corpus Christi bay,
Texas you are mine,
please forever stay the same.
There may be fewer cowboys,
Californians might move in,
still Texas you are mine,
You are still the same within.
There will still be a rodeo,
and a scorching sun,
even if the city's stretch
further than I can run.
Where the dirt is red,
and the coyotes cry,
the best place on earth,
This is a state full of pride.
the smell of barbecue
On a hot summer day,
This is far better
then a little bit of rain.
A field of bluebonnets,
a mockingbird's chatter,
This is where I could live,
happily ever after.
There is only one Texas.
The lone star state,
This is where I want to be,
Please forever stay the same.
