The human had brought me some people clothes. It was odd, it felt odd. Like I was wearing a second skin, I didn't like it, but the human refused to talk to me otherwise.
"There, now answer my question." I said while standing in front of him. He was currently sat on a rock, scribbling in his book, what I think is a picture of me.
"Uh, r-right. What was your question again?" he asked, focused on his drawing, it was ticking me off. I swatted his book away with my tail and he looked up at me angrily.
"Hey!" His anger quickly disappeared when he saw me baring my teeth.
"What do you want, human." I growled out, and he froze.
"W-what do you mean?" He asked while staring at me as I sat down on the sand in front of him.
"What do you want from me and brother? You shot us down, wounded him,and now you keep coming here. Why?" I said as I stared at him as he just rubbed his neck awkwardly.
"S-sorry about that...the whole shooting you down thing-" "you're not forgiven." I cut him off coldly.
"W-what, why?" "He can't fly because of you. If you want forgiveness, then fix your mistakes." I gave him no room for negotiation before I stood and turned back into my dragon form, what happened to the clothes, I have no idea. I walked away from him and flew out of the cove, leaving to find some food.I came back some time later, failing to catch anything. When I arrived at the cove, I was surprised by what I saw, Brother had his head in a container of fish and the human was sneaking round onto his tail. Although part of me wanted to go down there and confront them, I decided to lay back and watch, and oh boy did I make the right decision. The human tried to attach a fake tail fin to brother and in return he shot into the air, but it was only a couple seconds before they crashed. After they did, I flew down laughing at their misery.
"Don't laugh..." Brother growled at me.
"Oh come on, you should thank me. I'm the reason he's trying to fix our tail." I said walking over to him, the two of us ignoring the human who has gone back to the village to fix his creation.
"What.....what did you do?" His voice grew grim and I realized that I messed up, but I knew that there was no reason to try and worm my way out of this.
"I...may have transformed and...talked to the human-" "WHAT!?" He yelled loudly at me, making my ear fins go down.
"Do you have any idea how dangerous that is! The human knows what you are! He could tell others!" he began to pace, yelling at me about all the possibilities and I couldn't help but sigh. He was always so overprotective of me.
"Brother..." I spoke softly as I stopped his pacing, going under his chin to relax him.
"I wanted to help you...and to make sure the human could be trusted." I looked at him tilting my head slightly with a sad smile. He stared back at me for a few seconds before speaking.
"Well....what did you find?" He asked me and I couldn't help but smile brightly.
"I still don't like him, but he's not awful, and he's sorry for shooting us down. Now he's trying to fix your tail, so he's not that bad. I think we can trust him.' he seemed unsure but sighed, hugging me with his wings.
"I don't trust him.....but I trust you." He said as I hugged him back.
"That's all I need..."Over the next several weeks, the human has been coming out and learning to fly with brother, working on his tail. I've also been able to talk to him more. He said his name was Hiccup and he decided to name Brother Toothless. I thought it was odd, but didn't judge. He and I also worked out a name for me, Y/n.
It's actually been kind of nice having a friend besides my brother. Another good thing, my brother has grown more fond of the human, which is really good considering he needs him to fly now.As of right now, Hiccup perfected my brother's tail, and here we are, flying through the sky together, just like old times. Me and brother did tricks, rolling through the air and skimming across the water. It scared the pants off Hiccup and we couldn't help but laugh. As the two of us flew up, we went above the clouds, watching the sunset as we skimmed the clouds. I flew directly above Brother, in the way we used to do when we were on raids. Then, I decided to shift to my human form, plopping on my brother's back, behind Hiccup. The three of us flew peacefully, watching the sun set and the stars rise. As we flew, I wrapped my arms around Hiccup and relaxed against him. Thank Thor my brother couldn't see me, or he would've bucked me right off to fly on my own. I smiled at the thought as I watched the horizon. Hiccup, in turn, smiled as he watched me.
'If only we could stay like this....wings in the sky.'
