I stumbled out of The Velvet Rose, my heart pounding in my chest. The cool night air hit my flushed face, but it did nothing to calm the whirlwind of emotions inside me. I could still see Lena in that suit—she looked absolutely stunning, a perfect mix of beauty and boyish charm.
The sight of her had left me speechless, and now I felt like I was running on pure adrenaline.
"Harper! There you are!" Jess exclaimed as she spotted me, her eyes widening with curiosity. The rest of my friends quickly gathered around, practically buzzing with energy. "What happened in there? Did you see her?"
"I... um..." I stammered, still trying to catch my breath. The words danced on the tip of my tongue, but I couldn't form a coherent sentence. The reality of what I had seen crashed over me like a tidal wave—Lena was indeed an escort.
"Did you talk to her? Was she as hot as we thought?" Sam teased, her grin impossibly wide. I could see the eager anticipation in their eyes as they leaned closer, hanging on my every word.
"She looked... beautiful," I finally managed to blurt out, my voice barely above a whisper. My cheeks burned hotter as I recalled the way Lena had carried herself, the confidence she exuded. "But... I didn't talk to her. I was too stunned."
"Too stunned?" Jess laughed, nudging me with her elbow. "Come on! You've got to admit this is wild, right?"
I nodded slowly, overwhelmed with the conflicting feelings surging through me. "Yeah, but she looked so... different. Like, beneath all those hoodies, she's got this dazzling beauty hiding everything during the day." I could feel my heart racing again as I recalled seeing her.
"Did you have a crush on her all this time?" Sarah asked, her teasing tone making me blush even more.
"No! I mean, maybe?" I faltered, feeling the weight of their teasing. "I just... didn't expect her to look like that."
"Girl, you totally have it bad," Jess laughed, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I mean, what are the odds you'd find out she's an escort? This is like some sort of romantic comedy!"
As we walked down the street, my friends continued to tease me, sharing their own wild theories about Lena. Each word felt like it was sinking in deeper, amplifying the confusion swirling inside my head. Finally, we reached a fork in the road, and our group began to split off.
"Are you sure you'll be okay?" Sarah asked, her concern evident. "You look a little out of it.""Yeah, I'll be fine," I reassured them, but I could feel the haze of alcohol starting to settle in as I waved goodbye and headed back to the apartment.
Once inside, the silence enveloped me like a thick blanket, and I sank onto the couch, staring blankly at the wall. My thoughts raced in circles—so Lena really was an escort? How long had she been living this double life? Did she even like girls? Do you actually need to be a lesbian to be an escort at a lesbian bar? My heart raced with the possibilities, each question igniting a spark of curiosity and longing.
I poured myself a glass of water, but my mind was too cluttered to focus on anything else. Instead, I found myself drifting into a daydream, imagining what it would be like to be with Lena. My heart fluttered at the thought of our lips brushing together, the way her hands might feel against my skin, exploring every inch of me. Would she be gentle or assertive?
As I drifted deeper into my fantasies, the scenario shifted in my mind. I could see us tangled in the sheets, her tattoos shimmering under the soft glow of the moonlight, every inch of her body captivating and intoxicating. I imagined her leaning in closer, whispering sweet nothings into my ear, igniting a fire inside me I never knew existed.
"Harper..." I imagined her voice, low and sultry. "You have no idea how long I've wanted this."Just as the scene began to heat up, I jolted awake, the alarm of my thoughts ringing louder than any sound. I blinked, disoriented and half-embarrassed. The reality of my feelings crashed over me again, and I couldn't shake the thrill of what I had just dreamed about.
