Jamie POV:
No matter how hard I sobbed or how loudly I cried, the only sounds that I could hear were the sounds of Chesca whispering "Italy", and the sound of the door slamming that followed. These sounds endlessly echoed through the house and through my mind.
The realization that I was in this empty house all alone hit me like a tone of bricks and I sobbed even harder. I knew that it wasn't okay for me to be all alone right now and I didn't want to be all alone so I reached into my pocket and pulled out my phone.
I tried to wipe my blurry eyes and clear my tears for long enough that I could actually see the screen as I thought about who I could call.
Who can I call?
My parents are out of town once again and Gianna's currently at work. I know that if I called and told her what happened she would drop everything to come here but I don't want to put her at risk of losing her job.
And I certainty can't call Amari. Yes we're friends again but we aren't close enough for me to be comfortable with her seeing me in this state. I also think that she still has some feelings for me so her coming over and finding out that Chesca just broke up with me probably isn't the best idea. I don't want to give Amari the wrong idea.
That left me with one option.
Tatum.
Without a second thought I clicked on her contact and dialed her number. I sniffled, trying to calm down my sobs as I held the phone up to my ear and listened to it ringing. By the third ring, Tatum picked up.
"Hey Jamie what's up?" She asked.
"A-Are you b-busy right n-now?" I asked, trying my best to hide my emotions which is pointless because if she ends up coming over she's going to see how much of a mess I really am.
"No I'm not actually. I was supposed to work today but Tito weirdly closed the restaurant for the day last minute. Probably has something going on. Why what's going on?" Tatum asked, her voice laced with concern.
"S-She's g-gone." I stammered as my eyes watered even more and I my sobs broke loose.
"What? Who's gone? What's going on?" Tatum asked nervously. I could hear some rustling coming from her end of the line as if she was getting up out of bed.
"Ch-Chesca. Her m-mom f-found out about u-us. Checa b-broke up with me b-because her m-mom is here r-right now to drag her back to I-Italy." I cried.
"Oh yeah? Where's home to you huh? Is it back in Italy or is it here with me, and Tito, and all of your friends?!"
"Italy."
I groaned with frustration. Those stupid words just kept echoing and echoing through my mind. And then the slam of the front door. The sound of her car pulling away. I couldn't forget any of it. I never will.
"Holy shit." Tatum said in complete disbelief.
"C-Can you p-please-"
"You don't even have to ask. I'm already on my way." She stated. I knew that her words were true when I heard the sound of her car starting in the background.
