Pedri POV
Me, my parents and fer had dinner and I felt like I was forgetting something but I couldn't quite place my finger on it then suddenly it hit me... Luisa..it totally slipped my mind and have sort of totally forgotten that she drove with me since it was her first day at work and I wasn't used to that yet and I was thinking why my parents haven't asked where she was yet.
"Why is Luisa not here?" I asked nonchalantly
"She called and is staying with Gavi for dinner" my mother said and I felt my blood coursing through my veins. I know Gavi very well he's one of my best friends and I also know how he is with woman and after she explained a part of her story about getting dumped by her parents I couldn't help but feel this way. Gavi was usually just like that he haves fun meaningless and than drops them and I just couldn't or wanted to let her go through something like that again for some reason.
I tried to ignore it for a bit before I grabbed my keys and said "she asked me to pick her up I'll be back in a bit" she didn't actually ask me too I just knew I had to get her before anything happens. They nodded and said drive safe and see you in a bit, my brother didn't say anything though he just raised an eyebrow with a curious expression on his face.
I drove to Gavi's place rang the doorbell and I expected Gavi but it was her who opened the door...
(Back to where we were)
"Now!" I said sternly and saw her moving meaning she was coming with me. We got into the car and I could still feel the anger inside even though it was biased of a way of protecting
The drive was silent at first neither of us speaking tension thick before she irritatingly said "why did you come get me? She said with an expression I haven't seen on her before.
"It was getting late.." I said, the grip on the wheel tight and I was holding back, I didn't want to say why I was really there already so I hope she leaves it with that and doesn't start more questions.
"Late?!... it was 8 o clock you call that late? what are you 9 years old or something?" She said mockingly and it only lit the fire inside even more.
"Shut up" I spat back not liking the tone she was talking in too.
"No I'm not shutting up...I want an answer" She said her voice raising even louder and her body turned to me. Oh fuck here we go and I thought we finally started to get along a bit better..
"I already told you now fucking drop it" I responded with the same raised voice she had instead of trying to calm things down.
"No because you're lying shit you're being a dick" she spatted pack
I was getting more and more worked up at this point "Watch your mouth you don't know what you're talking about" I clenched my jaw my grip even tighter
She huffed and I heard her whisper under her breath "dickhead" and that was it I pulled the car over in the first empty spot I saw and killed the engine " dickhead huh? You really want to know the reason?" I said my voice tight and I turned my body to her looking at her intensely.
"Please do tell" she turned to me her expression a mad curiosity one like she was overdramatic waiting to hear my answer
"I know how Gavi is he's one of my best friends" I started saying but couldn't even finish since she already interrupted
"Wow what a good reason you know him congratulations" she said sarcastically
I grabbed her jaw and hovered more closer and spoke through gritted theet "let me finish I wasn't done yet"
She finally shut her mouth and waited for me to continue.
"I know how he is with girls I'm trying to spare you that, you should stay away from him" I said looking deep in her eyes to let her know I was being serious and meant it.
"I think I'm old enough to make my own decisions you're not my father" she responded.. that stubborn little thing god damn it, I took in a deep breath giving it one more try my patience gone and my frustration near the limit.
"Fine.. be like that let him use you and drop you without a second thought..that's probably what your family did too right?..."
And I knew I had crossed a boundary with that comment and I regretted it right after but I also wanted her to give it a second thought for her own goodness. Her face turned from anger to furious now combined with hurt in her eyes.
She tried to slap me but I caught her arm "don't you dare ever try to do that again" I said my voice low and dark in her ear.
"You had no right to say that, you're using my vulnerability against me even if you know how much that hurted me" she said and tried to yank her arm out of my grip her eyes watery and it softened me up and made me regret saying that even more
I let go of her arm and placed my hand on her cheek "why won't you see that it's all out of care I'm trying to do the best thing here..." I softly spoke our eyes still on each other and I could see her expression softening
My thumb brushing on her cheek and the tension shifted differently, my mind wasn't thinking straight anymore and I don't know why but I was drawn to her and without even realizing it I was leaning in closer and closer... the sound of my phone ringing brought me back to reality and rational thoughts I cleared my throat.
It was my mom so I picked up
-hey is everything alright you should've been back home right now
•Yeah it's all good just chatted to Gavi for a bit but we are nearly back home
-okay good I was worried something happened..be safe see you guys in a bit
•no nothing happened all good see you soon mom
We hung up and I started the engine again, looked at her one more time before driving off again towards home we didn't say anything during the couple of minutes but it wasn't an awkward silence or
anything and within some minutes arrived home.
