I look over at my friend. She's on the couch, probably sleeping.
Ever since our universes collapsed, she's not like herself anymore. She's currently very down about the whole thing. To be honest, everyone changed upon arrival to this place, even me.
I hear a few knocks on the door. I look through the window and see Talha sitting on the doorstep, texting someone on his phone.
I honestly hesitate to open the door. Every time we meet, the air around us is filled with dreaded, awkward silence. It's like, interacting with a mini you, and I have no idea how to talk to a mini me.
They all say that me and Talha are like twins, similar personality, similar attitude, similar mindset. By that logic, we should've gotten along pretty fast. The only thing that makes it awkward is his full name.
Talha bin Nubhan
Apparently, he's my son, in another universe. In RUMAH. It's kind of a shocker that I'll end up having kids. It's the same thing with Tasnim. She's my daughter in ABADI, technically Talha's little sister.
Ah yes, Nubhan bin Hamzah, Talha bin Nubhan and Tasnim binti Nubhan. One happy family in hell.
I open the door and let Talha in. He seems confused as to why I'm here.
"So, why are you here?" I ask him.
"I was about to ask you the same thing. I'm here to ask Dina if she could make us some Milo Ais."
"She's tired, and a bit down."
"Oh."
I glance back at the couch. Yep, Dina's still sleeping. It feels weird when other people call her Dina.
"Maybe you should come back later."
"Yeah, I'll leave. I'm sorry for bothering, whatever you two were doing." Talha replies awkwardly.
"It's okay, you weren't interrupting anything."
"Yeah..."
He leaves through the door. The second he leaves, I bolt to the door and lock it from the inside. I sit down, leaning on the door. The memory of the conversation replays in my head. What was I saying earlier? That was so awkward! What the hell Nubhan THAT WAS LITERALLY JUST YOUR OWN SON!
"Nubhan?"
I look at the sofa and Dina's awake. I get up and sit with her on the couch.
"What happened?" She asked me, possibly worried after seeing me sitting near the door.
"It's just nothing, it's okay. Are you feeling any better?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just kinda, I don't know how to say this, worried? Yeah, worried for you."
"I'm fine. Trust me." I reassure her
"You weren't like this back in KEKAL."
I have no idea what to say anymore. After that, I turned on the TV and we watched the dramas on TV3.
